The rumors in game and out in the community are saying that there’s going to be a load of HoT info released tomorrow. My hope is we get to know each new Specialization. And maybe Gliding Mounts, who knows? The expansion can’t come soon enough!

Prepare yourselves to be run over by the Hype Train!!!

I don’t think they’ve nearly run out of other trivia and minutia to try and string us along with before finally discussing Specializations.

What else is there to release, if not Specializations? We already know about Gliding and the Revenant. It’s only logical that the next big talk is what each Profession can turn into.

The only new content being released tomorrow are what the people recorded during the events ANET held and we’ve already got confirmation from both WP and MattVisual not to get overly hyped for it because it’s not going to be a large amount of new information. It’ll likely just be further in depth coverage on what we’ve already been shown and very little more.

If I recall, Matt mentioned that they were tight lipped on anything involving specializations during interviews.

It must be something substantial.
I doubt they would invite so many notable game reviewers/journalists and put an embargo on all the information they have recieved if it’s something insignificant.

I hope it’s about specializations, and if it’s not then I hope we at least get a deep dive/article about specializations this week.

The only Info I want is about the “new” Traits system. It’s been almost a year since they f***ed up Traits and over a month since they said they were fixing them.

Who cares what they push out if you cant log into, or play the game at all? The Euro servers are FUBAR so far as I can tell, and have been for months. The idiotic “mega server”, and getting randomly shuffled off to empty maps, etc also killed the fun of this game – well, what was left after taking out champ/world trains and screwing traits up royally.

Sadly, I think this game is done. I certainly wont be spending any more cash on it.

Actually the way everyone who went to that meet up there are basically saying the same thing. It’s nothing new. Just to get first hand impressions for the non-big gaming media groups. Also the fact that these embargo’s that A-net sets up, just keeps everyone in yelling at one about their game for about a day. It’s been done before with most of the top MMO community outlets already quite a few times now.

Unfortunately the marketing division at Arena Net are using archaic marketing tactics that is only going to hold attention for less then hour. It’s like when you see a billboard and go “oh yeah, that’s a thing” and then move on. Well at least it’s better then a taxi ad that try’s to hard to get out of the box, but is so overly motivated about forcing it’s message down your throat. I just shudder at the thought of that commercial.

Or maybe they are gonna show off some new legendaries.

I think it was Matt Visual who said things like new legendaries and class specialization were completely off limits when they asked them.

This

The people who went to the conference said to keep hype at a moderate level because they weren’t able to ask about a lot of the stuff Anet hasn’t already gone in depth with.

My guess is the majority of what we will get tomorrow is a better look at the new zone and a large amount of non-substantive interviews with maybe a few teasers spread throughout.

So…is that pic really relevant then? I mean, its not Anet hyping it up, its the community doing it. We need a new train pic that can depict the gw2 community hyping something more than anet is hyping. If the guys from the interview were “meh” like the people in the background then why is the community acting like the forefront guy?

They don’t need to be fixed because there is nothing wrong with them. It’s all about supply and demand. Those are popular items used in popular recipes.

I wish people would stop with the hype train. The hype train is the single biggest thing that will lead to disappointment. No one will ever deliver the level of stuff some people are hoping for.

There won’t be much new or deep in the new stuff. But there’s a big difference between Anet telling us something is good and a bunch of guys who played it saying it. That’s what the event was about.

Not about giving them new info. It’s about letting them play the demo and getting people excited about that.

There’s a hype train that’s running along at lightning speed and there’s Anet with a pick up truck staying within the allowed speed limit.

Don’t expect too much tomorrow. You WILL BE disappointed.

I’m guessing they have some pretty big things to reveal. I can’t imagine Arenanet would fly in a bunch of youtube/fansite people without providing them some things to share. It sounds like hype is the exact outcome anet expected from doing something like this.

I’m guessing we will see something about the new specializations. Maybe something about how the living story will work post expansion. Condition rework or seamless world(hot zones for now) in the works would be pretty cool too.

I guess people were saying not to expect much at the convention when they announced the expansion too.

If they are saying not to expect much, I wouldn’t expect much then.

Quite frankly, the masteries look rather . . . lackluster.

Don’t get all hyped just because they payed a bunch of people to go out there. you will be sorely disappointed.

Battlefield did this a while back when Battlefield: Hardline was announced. They flew youtubers from around the world into their headquarters for a first look. You know what they got? Fancy 5 star hotel and food and 1 hour of gameplay before the beta launched. Ya, thats right. Popular You-tubers from USA, Europe and Russia etc.. were flown to the USA for a sneak peak and all they got was 1 hour of gameplay. They were allowed to record that gameplay for the 1 hour and post it with the companies watermark; BUT not until the beta was released. Morning OPEN beta launched all the vids were uploaded by the famous Battlefield youtubers. (I would love to watch you play, but I would rather play it myself). No questions about anything answered and just some footage on a single map that people had already seen previously.

All it does is hype people up, like what is happening now. So many getting hyped about big secrets that they must know, because why else would they fly them there? Hype train will be derailed but hey, it is keeping you interested and that is what they want.
