Maybe they are moving the raid portal out of VB so that people hanging out preparing for a raid don’t take up space in a map where players are trying to do events. I have seen several complaints since the raid was released about players waiting to raid taking up space in VB.

With those 3 separate entrances to the building and the raid portal image it certainly looks like an entrance to raids. I think Anet said they are committed to 3 raid wings. Note the middle door has a different look because perhaps it is the future access for the current raid. Again my guess is they are removing the raid portal from VB and putting it in LA to avoid raid players taking map space from those doing events.

Well it’s not -just- that, it’s access to the interior of something that has been of (mild?) interest since the new LA arrived.

3 raid wings were confirmed, which were practically confirmed to be the only new content in the ~year following HoT. It’d be best to ignore ArenaNet’s misguided marketing for now as you’ll only be disappointed.

They also had a clip today that appears to be a ranger auto-attacking and moving at the same time. I wouldn’t read too much into the scale of it just because their social media promoted it.

maybe they can dedicate an entire month or two to show highlights about people raiding and not be able to help the rest of the games balance or mechanics because it might interfere with the season…i mean raid

I will never really be truly hyped about anything in GW2 again.
At least not untill it is comfirmed what something is going to be and it is actually something I care about. Even then it will probably still only be mild hype.

I’m not concerned about hype for this game. All I care about is what actually makes it into the game and whether or not I’m going to play what actually makes it into the game. Everything else is just talk and talk is cheap.

Enjoy having a new place to stand while looking for groups.

It’s a good idea, really it is, get people out of VB and into LA but it’s a bad idea not to tell Egerton’s what it is. I don’t imagine many people will find this “exciting” or “delightful” those expecting more will be disappointed though.

An expansion is not a new campaign. An expansion is a smaller upgrade like HoT, so I wouldn’t get insanely hyped thinking we’re going to a new continent (imo).

My mistake then I was going by the HoT website and the wiki. I must have not seen the news about 4 wings. Thanks for keeping me informed.

True. But, I wouldn’t get hyped for anything introduced as hype for an expansion or otherwise, because I’m still waiting for content I’ve paid for with the last expansion. My new mantra is I’ll believe it (and pay for it) when it’s there for me to see and enjoy.

Have no interest whatsoever and frankly if it’s raid related it’s another chunk of content meant for the minority and all the more reason this game is losing ground and players. If this was a portal to the Tengu area then maybe some real excitement would be warranted!

I don’t think that is a raid portal, look at how high up it is, and how big it is. That looks like a portal for something ginormous to go though, like a dragon or air ship.

Oh, it could be a raid portal, but you interact with an NPC “yes please fly me to the hot zone.” (pun intended). And airships fly into the portal.

Or it could be something way cooler, but I’ll set my expectations to super low simmer.
