I Feel Too Strong to War With....
I sort of agree, but we despatched Zhaitan too soon and too easily. Once a dragon is gone, part of the game goes with it. I’d rather we held off and the dragons were built up more, perhaps using the living story to set up bits with the Dragon’s minions. I’d expect a year at least of building before fighting a dragon if not longer. I know that sounds like a long time, but if it was well built before that, then it wouldnt feel like a chore, but something quite epic.
You have to walk before you run. And rest for 30 minutes after eating before you go swimming or you’ll get cramps.
Just have patience, content will eventually be launched, I’m sure ANet wants to get everything working perfectly before releasing any expansion (or at least with a minimum of bugs).
I just can’t wait to see all the magical story of Kralkatorrik, what happened to Glint’s egg and so forth (though it may take many years to come out).
By focusing solely on the larger threats, there’s a tendency to forget that there other dangers. I think it’s a good way to emphasize that there are other menacing forces in Tyria.
I single handedly watermelloned SB to death, would like to see more dragons.

Exactly, side stories make up the beauty of lores, I really wouldn’t like Nightmare Court to have a strong connection to Elder Dragons, just like centaurs or dredge.
Although Trahearne leads the fight against Zaithan, I’d like to see a more aggressive sylvari some time in the future. Malyck is kind of an example for this.
Ok, so the idea of the living story is fun, but it hardly feels like an entire expansion worth off content., look of the size of Eye of the North.
That’s because it’s not an expansion. Strange isn’t it?

Don’t be a smartkitten, flissy. they said at one point that the living story would have an expansions worth of content. so no, it’s not strange at all.

No, they said that the updates would have an expansions worth of FEATURES, which I would say that it does.

To some degree I do understand what’s being put in the thread.
However I also like the idea of “coming home” and helping with internal problems if not to simply enjoy the territory once again.
That was part of my problem with GW1, as we started expanding out to other strange lands I miss my old Tyria troubles. Then came the War on Kryta which really did help me come home again and enjoy the old stomping grounds with new troubles to put down.
Id agree, unless by fighting those dragons you mean something similar to zhaitan…. then ill let anet give us minions and pawns to fight for years to come just to avoid that disaster.
the dragons give the world breadth, but as they are basically featureless focusing too heavily around them makes things shallow. Concentrating on things like dredge, flame legion, centaurs, etc. helps give the setting the depth it so desperately needs. Besides, it’s not like you’re really so mighty – that cannon did all the work on Zhaitan.
Speaking of which: playing dragon whack-a-mole gets us into the same trouble as a lot of tv shows. You take out one big bad so therefore the next enemy must be most bigger and badder. After we take out a couple of increasingly difficult dragons what comes next? An evil amalgamation of all the Spirits of the Wild and the gods? Cosmic space whales with a taste for Orrian Fried Chicken? Michael Moore? I’m sure you get the point.

We just simply go the Gurren Lagann method.
The absolute last battle in GW2 before the servers die will be our heroes in a huge Golem with a Dredge mining drill.
The last evil mastermind will be in a equally huge Molten effigy with an equally huge drill.
Then our characters fight until the whole of existence breaks.
But of course, being the Gurren Lagann method, Japanese servers have a different ending due to censors. :P

Yet, that is what was promised.

Actually, it was content:
We had a huge Halloween update in October, we just had a big one in November, we have a giant Christmas update coming in December, and all of those have gone over really well, and I think in December people are going to be really excited. But January and February are actually are biggest updates to date. They’re even bigger than all the stuff we did in October, November and December. And I think that when people see how much stuff they’re gonna get for no monthly fee in January and February, they’re probably going to be blown away. These two months combined are basically an expansion’s worth of content for free.
Yes, that was what they said at first, but quite shortly after that statement they corrected it and changed it to features, not content.
