I Love "Guild Wars 2" Because...
…because there’s no vertical progression and no grind like every other mmo.
It’s F2P
Other than that, it’s the same old story of every other MMO out there. Just glad there’s a F2P game out that has really nice graphics. So done with paying for these stupid games. LOL

No.
That is probably one of the largest contributing factors to it’s player base size lol
I lovez GW2 cus there is so much 2 do and it so cool and it has huge player base and so cool pvp and skill selection, I also luvz buy to win gamez I could play this game foreverz and everz it has unlimitedz end game content and definitely killed WoW.
and it doesnt afraid of anything
- The WvW
- The sylvari hadn’t been for GW2 i wouln’t have seen a plant race. ALthough i’ve read some stories about older MMo’s from the past containing certain plant races? (so can’t state it like that, just a first encounter for me)
- The lore
- Some of the humor is pretty blant, which can turn out pretty funny.
- The Spvp is more based around holding, and defending positions.
Which i like quite alot, might be if they add custom servers with spectator mode it could even be something progressively able to be played on ESL/Whatever else appeases. (Which they are working on!)
- The crafting was pretty refreshing when i had a go at it for the first time.
-So far i DID like haloween, and the lost shore introduction WASN’T a bad attempt (in my opinion)
-PvP Feels very polished, although alot of complaints will fly by because people hardly know how to deal with certain aspects.
Especially with the mere Thieves and 100B warriors which is by far the most easiest thing ever to counterplay.
- THe downed state is also very refreshing like you said <->
- No trinity roles. (Tank,Healer,DPS)
-You are no longer limited to rushing a mob to tag it before someone else does.
Everyone can work together to get a veteran, champion or group of monsters down and still receive everything from the kill.

Content wise its as good as ny sub model game.

50/50 GWAMM x3

Everyone does. It’s the best gamez ever and it changed my view of MMO’s. 2m sales? Beat that Blizzard. /gw2forever
I liked it because every other MMO have such a crap skill system… and for once; GW2 offers a type of combat that “provides skills that aren’t just about doing damages” (a lot of things like aegis, fear, etc. are real unique/cool skill designs). And I’m speaking only in context to the MMO talks… because I still favor RTS games above GW2, although IMO GW2 has yet take actions corresponding to player feedbacks that they’ve now began to work on. Maybe we’ll see a more diverse fan-bases in this game after this december; I have hopes for this game to go somewhere even better.

…there are no 6 or 8 actions bars cluttered on the bottom and the side of my screen.
I love it because its fun to play, beautiful and Anet is very down to earth. And the community is very helpful. And I loved teh first one. And the events are awesome and and and… well I could go on forever.
Proud member of the Blackgate community.
… because it’s good enough to entertain me when I feel like playing a game, but not amazing enough to have me forsake social life to play fanatically
Love the painterly style and Charr!
Because the game download agent has the decency not to tell you how long it will take to download the remaining 175000 files before you play it for the first time…
…it allows me to interact with people in fun ways I couldn’t in other games. Raising people who have been downed or defeated, helping them when they are going toe-to-toe with a Champion, or even swooping in to help them complete a dynamic event.
Most other MMOs draw a line between players. Only healers can heal. Only the person or party attacking that monster gets XP. Only that guy over there will get that node because he will reach it first, etc.
Why do you love Guild Wars 2?
Those are my reasons too
Add to that an amazing open world I can play in with others and the fact that I am glad to see other players instead of hating them on sight because they will steal my loot, node, kill etc,
the feeling of yay after a random bunch of people who showed up kills a really hard boss,
the incredible beauty of the game and how the different stories of the various peoples in all the maps intermingle.
The feeling of making an alt and seeing it all from a different perspective.
Underwater combat, actually the whole idea that a huge part of the world is hidden, not just underwater but in caves and hidden temples and you have to search to find it….
ok I’ll stop now
It’s F2P
No.
Just to hopefully clarify this.
1) it is B2P (which is to buy the game and you can play it for even and not spend another dime if you so desire.
2) as hinted at above there is not subscription fee required. This is where I feel Vyndetta was referring.
now to reply to the post
Because there are no subscriptions.
It is a return to how MMOs were like before WoW and console gamers ruined them
There is diversity in every aspect of the game and you will see it if you actually take the time to look and listen
I love the DE system especially on the higher maps where you have to do things to affected areas just to get deeper into the map.
This is a challenging and fun game
Because I can randomly get 300 gold worth of items in the mail for doing nothing!
Because I need to farm Orr, which is fun with group of ppl.
I love Guild Wars 2 because everytime I play, it makes me happy, warm and content.
What more could one ask for?
Because it’s the only MMO on the market that’s worth playing.

Oh! This also. ^^^
I love GW2 because I love GW2, end of story!!! lol

I don’t love GW2
I love Guild wars 2 because… FOR GREAT JUSTICE!!!
I love Guild Wars 2 because it runs so smooth and there is never any bugs.

No.
Yup. Believe me, if it was P2P it would have way less players than currently

Ever heard of B2P?
Ever heard of “i don’t need to spend a cent beyond my $60 to allow me to play this game forever”? We can talk about how people label this, but it’s still “free to play” opposed to “pay to play” (subscriptions) :P

Do people actually use that term now? Is it that uncommon to buy a game to play it that there has to be a term for that?
“B2P” is a friggin common sense if it’s not a freeware or some korean P2W MMO.
But I’ll play along… so GW2 is B2P+F2P… other MMOs with a subscription fee are B2P+P2P.
B2P, pay an initial fee to play it and nothing thereafter for the privilege of playing said game (limited to content that it shipped with usually)
F2P the same, but without the initial buy in.
They ARE different, kindly update your internal vocabulary to reflect this.
on topic: I love*d* GW2 because it’s release was fantastic.
I love Guildwars 2 because drum rolls
…It’s simply the best, better than all the rest
Better than any game, any game I’ve ever met
I’m stuck on its heart, and hang on every word it says

I love Guild Wars 2 because it didn’t kill WoW.
I love this game because there’s no monthly fee and I can log off for a week and not feel like I’m wasting money, and I can log in anytime I want.
This is the only MMO that I played that doesn’t feel like work it feels like a game.
I love it because unlike every other game you don’t get the predictable good loot after spending 10-20 minutes killing a monster. In GW2 you are not rewarded at all leaving you unable to wait to take down another to capture the same high.
I love GW2 because
The constant grind for gear and mats
The never ending gear treadmill
The constant loot nerfs
The bugs and contested waypoints
The dwindling player population
These are a few things I love about GW2
Some people are so bitter.
I love the art direction, the Sylvari, the first ever Support Warrior archetype in an MMO
Pretty much everything except the people who camp the “Guild Wars 2 Discussion” subsection of the forums to do nothing but moan and whine endlessly despite claiming to be finished with the game.
And possibly the writing at some points in the game…
I honestly can’t believe people have their panties in such a twist over the mistakes coming out of a new game that frankly took a massive risk by departing from any MMO formula we’ve known and completely ignore everything that makes this game a breath of fresh air in the world of MMOs.
- The scenery, architecture and overall atmosphere of the game. It’s frigging /gorgeous/. While the actual graphics themselves are no Aion, they’re still very pretty to look at, and every region has it’s own flavor. Take a moment to actually look around and briefly think about how much time went in to just designing each individual structure. Perhaps this will illustrate it for you.
- A really elegant combat system that’s easy enough for a complete newbie to pick up whilst being just complicated enough to play around with for variety. The traits/weapon/utilities system is actually really interesting and smooth. I know some classes have skills that don’t work as they should yet, but I don’t see any reason why those snags won’t be ironed out in time.
- How the game actively encourages teamwork at every juncture. No kill-stealing to worry about. Harvesting nodes work per player, not like in Perfect World, where I had to race people to harvesting nodes.
- WvWvW in general. Again, some snags, but I don’t see why they won’t be ironed out over time. It reminds me of how TF2 players play in 2Fort over and over again without ever really tiring of the game. When everything is polished up and more skills/etc are added, it will become even more dynamic.
- The fact that there actually isn’t vertical progression. Everyone whining that there is hasn’t played nearly enough Guild Wars 1. When my fiance was looking at the armor options MONTHS ago, he, in all seriousness, said, “Wow, they don’t have prestige/ascended armor yet. I guess they’ll add that in later.” And then he was taken aback when his prediction came to pass and everyone acted like it was a bolt out of the blue. Hell, even ANet themselves said that they should have added it in before launch.
TL;DR: Ascended items aren’t a new tier that was haphazardly added later in. The game launched with them planned, but not implemented. That isn’t vertical progression. Yet, anyway.
- One of the more interesting guild structures I’ve seen. The “influence” system is quite unique.
- Excellent and rich lore… But needs better writers to properly do it justice, both in-game and in the novel series.
- There are actually a few moments where the voice acting is brilliant, but it’s sort of overshadowed by the fact that there’s an equal amount of mediocre or outright bad VA work (i.e. Trahearne, Ceera).
EDIT: Oh, and those breathtakingly beautiful frescos on every loading screen.

You think you’re witty, but I feel the opposite of what you’re saying:
I don’t grind for anything because I choose to do something else. No one makes you grind. It’s a choice.
Also, I haven’t noticed a dwindling player population. Even on weekdays, I find plenty of people.
I love GW2 because it made me realise why I love SWTOR so much more.
I love GW2 because there are tons of sheeps playing the game.
…beacuse it continues GW1’s tried and tested tradition of offering only non tradeable, cosmetic rewards from world events. Oh, wait…

Don’t agree on the non-tradeable part necessarily, but 100% yes on the topic of cosmetic rewards.
That’s what I want way more of and I’m surprised we’re not seeing it. Armor/weapon skins, town clothes, those sort of things.
…because it has Sylvari. They are awesome!
Cheers.
Updated every Monday
It hasn’t been dumbed down and majority ( not all ) of players are very helpful . Ask something in chat and you won’t get trolled ( although there’s been few idiots .)
Another thing I like is the devs are actually putting out new content and are putting effort into the game and I got help from customer service .
One of my other favorites is this game is not so gear driven and you actually have a fighting chance against high level players .
NO SUB which is a plus for me .
I love GW2 because it cleared a few things up for me:
1) perfect MMO will never exist
2) a game with cash shop currency convertible to ingame currency isn’t worth playing
3) don’t believe everything that’s said in a pre launch hype, in fact, don’t believe anything of it
…because there’s no vertical progression and no grind like every other mmo.
lol’d

I bet it was sarcasm. Plus I agree with you Veldan.
I love Guild Wars 2 because any race can play any profession. Something that doesn’t happen in a lot of other games.
They have definitely done a lot of things right, yes there are issues but nothing game breaking or that cannot be fixed.
I love the look of the world, it’s full of life and very eye pleasing.
There are so may things I do love about the game and I’m not level 80 yet, have not been in any dungeons or participated in any pvp so the personal story/leveling experience is only a small fraction of the game and it’s got me hooked.
I love it because its a true skill base mmorpg non of the “look i can hit buttons and things die before they get to me” type of play also that your working as a true team with combo fields vs other mmorpg where its more on the lines team work is you happen to be playing beside a person.
