I Miss Running

Don’t forget the Sanctuary→Basalt/Kodash run.
Gw2 must be doing something right if a complaint is that there is a lack of “running” involved. Still not 100% sure what you are asking for.
However, I recommend finding a few other like-minded people and maybe create a “run from City A to City B naked” kind of race. Obvious rule being no waypoints allowed.

Shoot, if we could run like in Blade & Soul. That’d be great.

Running was my main source of income when playing because I enjoyed it so much.
Oh wells.
You can always come to wvw and run from zergs
here’s some demanding runs:
-from Drakkar Waypoint in Frostgorge Sound to Murdered Dreams Waypoint in Cursed Shore.
-from Rata Sum to EbonHawke.
Northern Shiverpeaks
Here is an example of an old school run where players would hire a “runner” to basically cart them across a bunch of maps to the next town, since towns basically acted as the waypoints in GW1 and were separate maps.
W/Mo Droks Run
I don’t think there are really any runs like GW1 has because there isn’t the same need for them. Most of the GW1 runs were either to get early access to max level armor (ie. Droks) or to skip missions.
Whereas in this game you can move freely between zones but most of the content is restricted by level. You can’t use max stat gear until you’re level 80 so there’s no point getting it early and you can’t skip your personal story quests.
But that doesn’t mean you can’t make up and do runs. Pick an area you think would be fun to run through and figure out a way to do it. You just won’t get people paying you for it.
(BTW since some people seem confused by the term Running in GW1 meant skipping to or past content. For example you could pay people to run you from relatively close to the start of the first campain to a town near the end where you got max stat armor. It took special builds and in some cases a fair amount of skill to do it because the runner had to avoid or solo any mobs along the way and players expected you to do it ASAP.)

Hahaha I remember I was on a droks run and everyone was dead and were spectating the runner and someone got excited and was hounding the guy, and he stopped right at the gate and wouldn’t go in until the offender shut up, lol.
I’m not looking for the function of running, just the gameplay. I just did Metrica Province’s Jumping Puzzle and I’m trying to work on speed running it. Windy Puzzle is friggin hard to speed run.
Also, that naked run sounds like the greatest thing I’ve ever heard. Ever. I’ll have to ask my guild leader xD

You might want to try the EB puzzle, you will often find people trying to kill you, that will be fun =)
I never did runs in GW1, but in GW2 at a very early level I decided to go to Ebonhawke, before knowing about the portal. duh-oh.
