I want to see Caithe make out with a thundershrimp, but you don’t see me making an all caps thread about it.

Go in a party and then ask a party-member to target you.

I think you should not be able to see enemy name-tags in WvW because they stick out the side of a wall when somebody is behind it. However the whole anti-culling Anet made means in some cases you can only see the tag meaning they can’t take it out.

It would have to be optional. Just like the new commander tag blob in my FOV I hate, the less things in my FOV the better. I know my name. I don’t need to see it. However, if it was optional I have no problem with that.

please ANET…this little request, would make so many folks, so happy…and for others, who do not dig it, they can easily enough de-select in options.

I’ll admit I am rather curious why it is important to see your name over your head. Don’t you know your character’s name already?

yes, but it helps to know what guild you are supporting sometimes…in and out, one or the other :P

but, maybe, I just want to see my AWESOME name above my head! hehe…the option should be there.

Well I hope you can see your AWESOME name some day then. As long as it is optional so I can opt out of seeing my own AWESOME name in my FOV I’m down with that.

P.S. My names are more AWESOME than yours. You should see my names floating above your head.

Side effect of the culling settings. If there are more players than render slots according to your settings, those that aren’t drawn still get hovering nametags.

Make a party, have someone target you, make a screen cap, then print it and tape it beside your monitor.

I’m just messing with you man, mostly because your all caps title. I get what you mean.

You know what I want to see? What bloody colour my team is in pvp matches. I just can’t see unless I respawn at base or capture a point.

Oh and I’d like to see my name too please.

Pressing the “G” button.

Seeing your own name should (and is) rightfully WAY down Arena.net’s list of priorities.

On SWTOR all you have to do is click your Picture onscreen and poof, there’s your name right above your head!!!

I was thinking about this too earlier. Usually when I start playing a game, I go to settings/options to put my name above my head. In my opinion it feels much better – “how does my name look?”, “which guild am I representing right now?” (it’s faster to just look up, then press G and check the list).

When you wrote your “apology” you hadn’t posted the topic yet, so you still had the option to change the topic title. You chose not to do that, hence your apology is insincere and that’s just not nice

There are titles in the game and you can’t watch yourself wear them. Everyone please keep bumping this until it gets finally noticed.

You can in ‘General’ in Options, you can uncheck the “See all Player names” or something similar to that.

Getting this form my head, but it is there.

Just write you name with a permanent marker in the middle of your screen above your character. Nobody even cares, if you do it in capital letters.

Forget bug fixes, expansions, new zones, professions and playable races.

We need to see our name above our head!
