I planed carefuly my colors and style. In my case is white+light blue (NOT VIOLET)
I am owner of Meteorologicus that now perfectly fits my style (My zephyrite cap has same light blue effect).

Changing colors to violet/purple will ruin everything!

I think the colors may be related to lighting + time of day

Second color/aura (light blue) was chosen to underline holy style.

…after looking at that picture, perhaps it’s time to change up the outfit.

I really, really hope the screenshot we saw is just a lighting effect from the zone. Changing meteorlogicus to have a purple glow would be dangerously close to killing this game for me. I just finished crafting it, and its going to be ruined already?

Anet has said they are “upgrading” visuals on several legendaries. Changing the glow from light blue to purple is not an upgrade, its a disaster for those of us who carefully plan the looks of their characters and decided to make this scepter as it is right now. I do not mind if you upgrade my weapons, like adding the stars effect. But changing the lighting effect – that drastically – will simply ruin this legendary for many of us. For the love of God, the current glow is awesome, DONT MAKE IT PURPLE! If I wanted a purple weapon, I would have crafted Bolt

Besides the general look and awesome level of details, there are two things that made me fall in love with Meteorlogicus: the lack of footsteps (the very delicate trail it leaves is perfect as it is) and the light blue glow, which goes extremely well with my legendary shield. Add to this that both legendaries have golden elements, and they look awesome together. Please don’t ruin it

Until I read this thread, I truly had no idea the lengths to which some players go to obtain a color coordinated “look” for a character. I guess it’s all about what we enjoy…

As for the OP’s Charr….I dunno… The outfit looks like what Liberace used to perform in… Or if Liberace got married, that’s what he would have worn!

Actually I would like to concoct an outfit like that just to hang around Lion’s Arch and draw comments/hate. It is sort of hilarious if you stop to think about it.

This is my character. It is an Elementalist. It has no purple spells or move. It is just a clashing color with the entire aesthetic.

Go away, troll. He has every right to play the game as he likes it, and have the look that he likes. He also has every right to protest when upcoming changes are possibly going to ruin it for him.

My question is why do they not just let us dye our weapons? This would make things alot better.

Also to the OP never seen a charr dressed like that and i think that deserves some props for the will and wanting to be different I like it.

OP : no sarcasm at all, nice job. The fur, the armor, the colors, the pose, everything is just perfect together. And that crown ! It’s beyond perfect.
It makes me laugh (in a nice, puts a smile on my face, way), and actually, if I had enough cash to throw away, I might make my charr dress like you, but in a dark red theme.

With the new screenshot showing the night-version, it makes sense of why there is purple already implemented. Perhaps the night/moon version has the trail colors being switched (meaning that the purple will leave a longer trail than the blue).

You mean the moon and the stars are not part of the nighttime style? Or are you referring to the purple not matching with the rest? If it’s the latter, then maybe Anet could make it dark blue/black instead. If it’s the former, well, I never heard of the sun (which is what the Meteorlogicus currently has) being part of “night time”.

Why the hell should he care what you all think of his look? He’s obviously worked very hard to get the look he wants, he’s come to the forums to express a legitimate concern about a pretty significant cosmetic change to his legendary, an all he gets is insults? Brilliant.

If you look at how much some dyes sell for on the tp, it’s obvious that color coordination is a big deal. Completely changing the color effect, even if its just at night, is a pretty deal. Half of is open world time and in 4/7 dungeons his character won’t look the way he worked to get it to look. If they wanted it to change it for night time make it a darker blue with stars or something. Not purple verging on pink.

This isn’t a “rate the look above you” thread, can we stay on topic and keep the insults to a minimum?

I mean when you decide to make weapon for ~1000g and perfectly match style, you do not want to wake up someday and see your perfect style drasticly violated by “upgrades”.

…and dye your armor purple or any 1 of 500 other colours, problem solved. SOUP kitten says NEXT.

I just post a couple images showing that there were purple/violet already with the weapon and also wonder and speculate what Anet had in mind about the Meteorlogicus. I never said that you should just “deal with it” or that your color scheme is horrible, no. That is why I also said that perhaps Anet could make the purple more dark blue/black to match with the nighttime style.

I apologize if my images and speculations were offending of any way. I thought I could share some things and opinion but it seems that’s insulting to others….

Imagine having it already. On a character that goes well with blue but has absolutely no purple to speak of. =/

You look great. My sincere condolences. But it’s ok next thing you know it they’ll add purple to flameseeker and you’ll be good to go! In fact why not make all legendaries purple cause WHY NOT?!

And as far as the screeshots showing light blue+purple trail. How does that even go together. It looks like kitten. Make it white or dark blue or EVEN yellow but purple??!! How about you find that weapon designer another thing to do before they ruin more things with their purple fetish.

I’m neutral about this but I can tell you this, anet will only resentfully follow player feedback if you’re the majority.

I’d like to point out nobody here has definitely seen the updated Meteorlogicus. That screenshot could easily be an old screenshot of it with some sort of profession/environmental effect.

That charr looks so bad people want the changes to happen just so that he changes his looks.

I have Meteorlogicus. No environmental effect does anything like that, or changes the sun to white (clearly to reflect a moon).

They wouldn’t choose a screenshot to represent their legendary update that doesn’t reflect an actual incoming change.

OP, I play on your server and your look is renowned in my guild. We love running with you in wvw. I hope you can find a way to keep your look, because it’s amazing.

I think people are exaggerating, it’s not really going to ruin anybody’s look and it does look nice indeed, I don’t have a metoerlogicus but I think it looks awesome, then there is also the fact that it makes sense, the stars are also a nice addition

Sure, if your Volcanus suddenly turned blue it would be awesome, but some of the people with Volcanus wanted Red. That’s why they made Volcanus.
