Like the title I am new to guild wars 2 but I used to play guild wars now in this one can you combine classes like you used to be able to in guild wars 1 say if I am a ranger can I also combine for example a elemantlists abilitys

To answer your question: No, you can’t. Guild Wars 2 is more a traditional MMO than GW1 ever was, classes can’t be combined. You choose a class and stick with it, the only thing you can fiddle around with are your class skills and traits. And, of course, a number of race specific skills, depending on which race you pick.

You can not. But, once the expansion is released, you will be able to specialize your profession.

Welcome to the game! Now is a great time to get started but I would recommend only playing one class to cap right now as they are going to revamp leveling for the better when the expansion comes out. I’d play one class to learn the ins and outs and save some coin for other classes once it comes out.
