Guild Wars 2

So i’ve been playing for a month now and i haven’t yet decided my main character. It really gets on my nerve the last days haha. I like sylvari and i like medium/light armor a lot. Now my problem is that i want a profession with great aoe damage. And i liked necromancer, ele (wich was hard for me to survive), idk if a thief is very powerfull later on in the game? Ranger got to less utility skills for me and i can’t find myself so good being an engineer.

So i want a high damage class (mostly aoe), strategic, (mean looking, bossy character).

my options are:

- necromancer
- elementalist
- thief
- mesmer
- guardian

my race should be:

- sylvari
- asura
- if guardian (charr)

I would love if you guys could gave me some feedback and help so i can decide you may suggest also When i made my decision this is gonna be my main character.

For maximum aoe with those choices, elementalist.

Bossy? Asura, most definitely

AoE? I’d say ele, but I’m very biased there. Of course, I haven’t really played the other classes with ‘aoe’ intent, so I can’t say for certain which is the best option.

Have you settled on any primary goals in the game? Are you more WvW or PvE oriented? Are you hoping to collect cosmetics?

Seeing as how whichever AoE you use can only hit 5 mobs / players, I’d go for one that does the most damage…so that would be Guardian or Warrior. Elementalists huge and undoubtedly impressive looking rain of fire is mostly watering the grass……with fire :O

I’m about to delete my ranger because I enjoy only my thief and engineer. I plan on making two engineers one for healing one for bombs.

I wonder now tho if they are planning on adding dual spec. hmmm

My mesmer does better at hitting multi targets than my ele. Greatsword skill 4 sends out a beserker that hits up to 5 targets, the other greatsword #2 hits targets that have already been hit by you or zerker. Shatter hits everything (up to 5 lol) around. Necro is also good at hitting lots of targets. Scary/tough looking is a personal taste thing and all species have their pluses and minuses.
