So hallo people…Im returning to gw2 after a big break and i want to make a new character on a new server but i cant find how to do it..can i? I mean like if you make a character on a specific server you cant make a new one on another?i found some great ppl on a na server but my main characters are on a europe one..plz help me cant understand..on other games you could create characters on every server you wanted…

Nope. You chose your server and all your chars are there.
You can change server for free ig you delete all your chars though.

You can’t. This isn’t a function ANet provide. All your characters are bound to one home server, but you can guest to others in your own region, but this doesn’t matter much for PvE anymore.

There’s no way for those in NA servers and those in EU servers to play with each other. They’re separated completely.

Your account and all characters are bound to one server. You can either pay the gem fee to transfer or delete all your characters and choose a new server.

If you want to swap servers:

• Delete all characters and you can transfer for free.

I got to wonder though; how did you play with people on NA when you’re on EU? Guesting isn’t available cross-region.

Pay the gems if you don’t want to delete anything.

To my knowledge if you’re original home server is NA, you cannot transfer to EU. Might be wrong, but never had any incentive to play on EU.

Sry for many questions but I remember almost nothing about gw2.how can I earn gems? With real money? Also if I delete my chars will I a be able to start new char on NA server or I must on EU again? Ive got only 1 char 80 lvl not with too good gear but I love him..the rest are 15-35 lvl not high…

You can get gems with real money or be exchanging gold.

As far as I understand you should be able to transfer from EU to NA (or vice versa).

You can transfer your account (with or without characters) to any server, be it NA or EU.

The game may be region coded now and also can detect where you are from so what you are trying to may not be possible, but there may be options you could try. Depending if you live in EU or NA you may have to get a new account in the region you want to play in but that may not be possible either because the game may detect the region you are in from your ip not sure. Maybe if someone sees this thread and plays cross region can tell how they do it. But I know for a fact that depending on the region you live in you can’t change to the a deferent region because the servers are not listed. You will have to get a new account, some how in that region. There may be a way to trick the game into thinking you are in the region threw a proxy but most likely is no allowed and will cause you to lag.

I am sorry, but this is inaccurate. The only region-lock (and it is no longer enforced) was registering your account in the region in which you purchased it. You can see all servers from the menu at the Character Select screen, and you can transfer to any server you so desire, regardless of the region in which you reside, or have previously created your account.

This isn’t like WoW
The server you join is your home for good unless you transfer which costs $$ or gold to gems

or delete all your characters & i think the transfer is free

i dont think i can afford with gold the needed gems cause i need 1500 gems..

My ability to play on an NA server, from the UK, using key from an EU box, all since launch and possibly before, would say otherwise, actually, along with the ability of others to transfer between regions without problem after account creation.

lol 1 last question..well i moved to NA server but talk with some RL friends and they seem to still play on EU server.Unfortunately now i cant make new char on EU server and i must wait 6 days to make new char on their server?I deleted all characters on current server.Do i have some kind of penalty?

There is a one week cool down period on transfers. This is for WvW sake to lessen the chances of spies from temporarily transferring over and gathering intelligence before transferring back.

CS will not waive any cool-downs. I am afraid you will just have to wait the 7 days, and then transfer again. You can, in the meantime, create characters and try out professions, gather items/currency, etc. that will transfer with you (your bank and its contents transfer, as well), while you wait. Good luck.
