Q:

I’m new to the game so might be making some sort of rookie error, but I really want to join a guild, but I can’t. I’m a level 18 charr, but when I click on the guild panel, it won’t let me click on any of the guild options, such as roster etc. Also I can’t create a guild.

Does anybody know if I’m doing anything wrong or if there’s something I need in order to use the features in the guild panel and look for guilds?

A:

In order to join a guild, you need to receive a guild invite. Just say in map chat that you want to join a guild and what you’re looking for (e.g. “New player looking for a small, friendly PvE guild”).

Then check your guild panel (G), in the bottom left corner it will show what invites you have. Accept the invite, click on the guild’s name towards the top left of the guild panel, and then click the “represent” button, which is at the bottom of the panel. This means that you will be able to speak in guild chat and other guild members will be able to see what you write.

In order to make a guild, you have to “stand down” from any guild you’re representing. This won’t remove you from the guild, but make you temporarily inactive in that guild. You can then click the “Create Guild” button at the bottom left of the guild panel.

You won’t be able to click any of the guild panel options if you aren’t representing any guild. That is why they are greyed out.

You have to be a member of a guild to access the guild options.

Not sure what the reqs are to create a guild, never made one personally.

I won’t stop because I can’t stop.

It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….

Thanks crimson clouds. I was under the impression there’d be a feature in the guild panel where you can search guilds and apply to join, so couldn’t understand why I couldn’t click any of the guild panel options.

I’ve had several invites but when I press G there is no option to join.
Everything is greyed out and no mention of any invites.

Your open invitations can be found on the front tab of the guild panel, on the left, under “Invitations.”

If you continue to have difficulties, you can try a -repair of the client (instructions found via the ‘Support’ link above/below and ‘Search – Repair’). Failing that, you can contact the CS Team via the same ‘Support’ link and ‘Submit a Ticket’ for assistance.

Yes, I read the exact same thing in the wiki ;-)
I don’t see “Invitations” anywhere and I’m not sure what “front tab” means but assume it is the one labelled “Account Guilds”.
