Recently I’ve seen a load of people going on about how low level zones are empty, how there is nobody around any-more.

I don’t get it. I don’t find the low level zones BURSTING at the seams but the last time I played world of warcraft (admittedly it was 2 years ago) I was hardly crammed into the edge of the blood elf starting zone because so many players were around it made it hard to breathe. In my previous experiences with MMO’s, Rift, WoW, Tera it is cities and high level zones always packed with players.

Take this morning 10am Wednesday morning (GMT) I stand outside TA looking for EXP mode and BAM 10mins later i’m laughing as Greater Nightmare Vine dies and the team of 4 other lvl 80’s is already moving on. Now on WoW or Rift there would be no kitten way I would of even gotten a group.

So to sum up, I don’t get why this game is “dead” when I can do a zone meta event when I want I can join in structured PvP with a full group whenever I want and the last time I went to do WvW it was so busy I could barely move.

Same here…. I am currently leveling a Guardian.. he is in the low 20’s now… and there are players everywhere in the starting zones.

Most starting zone players are players on their toon…. met one new players this morning in Queensdale, rest were lvl 40s & 60s, and an 80 doing his map completion. Game’s not dead, but just saying… they made more content for the low lvl zones than high lvl; not sure why they would do that when most players are really higher lvl. It’s not like lvls matters that much in this game…. why they made levels even exist in this game is beyond me.

Same. My main character is level 34 and has spent the vast majority of her time in Queensdale and Kessex Hills, my other 3 haven’t even left their initial 1-15 zone. But on all of them I see plenty of other players around.

It’s not like it was on the launch weekend but IMO that’s an improvement. It’s nice being able to see what you’re doing and get a shot in during events.

And even if you don’t like that it’s still a vast improvement over my experience doing the free trial in WoW, which apparently could have happened in pretty much any MMO.
It took me literally an hour to find a single other player and when I did our conversation when like this:
Me: Hi
Long pause
Her: Pls leave
Me: Um…ok…

I later found out it was because my being there could potentially slow down her levelling because if I attacked an enemy (and possibly if they attacked me?) she wouldn’t get the XP but not knowing that at the time it was a pretty cold reception. I was also told not to use map chat unless I was selling something and not to sell anything you could find in the starting zones.

it’s all about perspective. the people who post those threads see the glass as half empty. I will admit, sometimes i have to change zones because one happens to be empty at the time when i’m there but I can always find a full one to play in.

I see an empty zone and think “i wonder what zone everybody is in?” so i go find them.

Others see an empty zone and go onto the forums ranting about the game being dead because no one was where they were.
