I don't get it
There’s something that’s been bugging me since the AMA. Chris said that Ascended gear is “designed to fill the ‘Time’ gap in regard to the distance between exotic and Legendary in terms of progression.” If that’s the case, why didn’t they release the Ascended weapons first? Wouldn’t that make more sense since the only Legendary-type equipment that we can get right now are weapons?
Basically it looks like most things went wrong with their Ascended attempt.
Only make it available from FotM dungeon and introducing another gear tier, thus in effect creating the very gap it’s supposed to bridge …… and then now they had to backtrack a lot in the AMA which leaves more questions than actual answers.
well considering I can still actively go for Ascended gear as well as my lagandary i don’t see the problem. weather it be a wepon or gear its still something to go for

Because they didn’t come up with ascended gear until recently aka after legendaries.

There’s no problem. It’s just that I just find it weird. Instead of filling the gap between Exotic weapons and Legendary weapons like they were supposed to, Ascended gear is being used to fill the gap between Exotic Back and Rings and… nothing. There’s not even a gap there for the Ascended gear to fill.
Because there was no gap needing filling.
It’s just PR talk, just like Crystin Cox saying dyes are meant to be character progression and you ain’t expected to collect them all (despite store dye bundle saying “Collect the mall!”)
