Guild Wars 2

So I’ve been playing Guild Wars 2 for about 2 years now. Even since I reached level 80 on my first character all I’ve ever been doing is WvW, and later PvP. I find nothing more exciting than these things, but I haven’t really tried anything. I feel like I don’t know anything about this game. Once I got my level 80 exotics, I was content and really haven’t done anything other than PvP since.

I guess I’m making this forum post so that people can tell me what THEY love about GW2. Is there anything that you would recommend that I try? I really want to get ascended gear that will yield similar stats to the Marauder necklace in PvP, as it fits my play style. How would I go about getting that?

Help pls. This game is too big and I don’t know where to start or what to do! I’m dazed and confused for so long it’s not true (pls catch the reference :P).

Personally, I really enjoy a few things on the pve side of gw2.

As far as overarching goals in the game go, I (probably controversial opinion) a huge fan of the extended journey (farming/grinding/etc) required to aim for one of the games extremely flashy legendary weapons. When I am focusing on pve, I usually have my eye on one of these or something that I want to save gold for. What can I say?, I’m addicted to the a-net fashion treadmill.

As far as specific activites I enjoy on the pve side of the game go, I really enjoy doing fractals (under the new system). You can now pop in and do a fractal in 5-20 mins as opposed to the longer affairs they used to be. If you decide to pay these a visit, though, I’d recommend waiting for the December rewards patch for them. They will be increasing the currency gained & also allowing for more ascended drops within the fractals (which I enjoy more for the mini dungeon feel they have). Also there are a fair amount of pretty flashy weapons from them (though I like the easier to acquire original fractal weapon skins over the newer gold ones in most cases).

I think it’s the platforms because I also find myself finding reasons to constantly go vaulting from bank to trading post in Lion’s Arch too.

Map exploration and jumping puzzles are other things I like, along with the occasional Silverwastes.
