I don't know which trait improves what.
You mean which trait like improves certain stats? Trait lines don’t do this anymore.
If you mean the way people are giving builds with the 1s and 0s. I agree this is confusing and people should stick with using abbreviations for names.
I main an Ele, so I know Earth trait line improves Toughness..
I created a Guardian and I don’t know which trait improve Toughness, cause there’s no icon anymore that I can put my mouse on top of it and see “improve toughness by X”.People say “go 10011”… Ok… I’m not familiar with Guardians so I don’t know which trait is the number 1. You got the point.
Stats are no longer gained by trait lines, and the x/x/x/x/x build setup is an outdated relic form of trait selection no longer in use. Keep in mind that if you’re reading build guides and such, 99.9999% of them are going to be outdated as of the update a week or two ago.

If people are saying 10011 for Guards now, they’re telling you to pick the lines Zeal, Honor and Virtues. They aren’t telling you which choices to make within the lines. The old method (e.g., 66020) did the same, telling you where to put the points, not which traits to pick.
In the old system, people thought picking the actual traits was obvious based on context. Given fewer choices at each tier, they’re probably thinking it’s obvious now, too.
Since the trait lines no longer give stats, you’ll have to read the traits to see what they offer and decide based on that. If you feel you need more toughness, you’ll have to get it through gear.
