Thats an entirely sexist view of women gamers. All game players are the target audience for the RMT. Simple fact is Anet is wasting its resources on this stuff that wont sell as well as other products in the RMT sphere, particularly things that have been asked for since launch (name change for instance).

It is – and quite confronting – but it is in fact supported by studies and in-depth customer examination done by other (higher revenue RMT) companies, not intended to offend.

Anet making clothing skins is fine, and infact to be encouraged. But imo the current ethos and designs of these pieces are wholely lacking. Its pandering to hipsters.

It is targetting the section of the GW2 community that has disposable income they would throw at pretty pixels on a screen – I’ll go one further and suggest they are not trying to capture new RMT store users with these either…

As far as throwing more “user requests” into the RMT store, I can see them skirting around certain game mechanics with their “convenience” items too… maybe because they’re broken mechanics and not worth developing for…

Feeling bad due to my response does not mean it was a personal attack.
It may just be that your original statement was wrong.
Please try again.

Hint guys – the lovely female population of GW2 is less likely to be a forum warrior, and more likely to spend RMT shop, why is this relevant? Maple Story…

Really – how many of you all raging over the hoodies and closed toe shoes for cash are the target audience of the cosmetic part of the RMT shop?

(Betcha all just put hands up lol).

+1 totally agree with this

Prince Rurik and Lady Althea. Anyone else see the incompatibilty here?

I don’t care about town clothes breaking my immersion or whatever.

I just am bothered by the guy wearing a hoodie in the promotional art looking like a grade-A kitten.

Please some placing kittens in a bad light all the time guys.

I do not agree with most of the thread. This is a fanatasy world, let ANet put any item they want.

I don’t like town clothing because I have to roam around in town at non swiftness speed.

Should have perma swiftness when you’re wearing town clothes and in town.

Yes. Just look at how well it worked out for TF2!

I liked the boxing stuff on my asura, it looks funny when he acts like a raging midget when using the 4th skill in a costume brawl. I would enjoy seeing way more options, but dont forget that different people like different stuff.

Just because most of what fits ur liking arent there, doesnt mean they wont come.

A namechange items as Lexandro said, would be a great idea as well, and probably a hot to get item (specially as he states that its being asked for since launch). Cause to be honest, my name is still ok, but by now I would love to change it as well.

Not sure wether those things are priority things, and people should try and stay a little patient.

Town clothes are useless because you can’t combat in them. I wouldn’t buy any of the costumes even if they were amazing looking.

I’m not going to buy any of the hoodies, aviator sunglasses or such. I would buy the riding pants if I could transmute them onto armor. Between the hoodies and most of the male human hairstyles, I tend to think of fashions I see at a mall instead of in a quasi-steampunk setting.

Hoodies? Really? What’s next…….Nike and Sketchers shoes? Talk about breaking immersion. It just seems as if Anet is just wildly shooting in the dark with no real direction.

I just tried the clothes ingame and there’s absolutely nothing “immersion breaking” about them, unless you think the fact that a hoodie is actually called a hoodie does that. They absolutely don’t look off, maybe try yourself instead of just ranting based on what you read.

I just checked them out last night too and I came to the same conclusion. Perhaps if they’d called them “Hooded Vests” instead of Hoodies, folks wouldn’t have gone off about them.

Which doesn’t change the fact the boxing gloves are still stupid, aviator’s cap – is – still (those previous three words together triggers the auto-censor, hence the hyphens) stupid and bunny ears is still stupid. But to be fully transparent in my hypocrisy, I own a pair of bunny ears. Which basically just means that stupid is relative and it’s none of my business how people choose to doll up their toons. If I don’t like it, I don’t have to buy it, but I should at least be tolerant of dissenting choices.

Now, wasn’t there a rumor about a french maid costume being added to store…?
