The new daily system lets you get 10 ap for 5 minutes of your time! They are actually achievements now. The 50 mob kill was boring. The 20 gather was boring.

The daily login reward seems like something desperate developers do to keep players logging in every day , but whatever its free loot. Getting those laurels don’t feel like a grind but the patience of waiting to get them will be annoying.

I love playing pvp now since the daily pvp rewards give extra reward track! We need more pvp scenarios though. I think activities should progress the reward track somehow since you are competing.

The pvp daily rewards are now incentive done right.

Still no vertical progression = win , win , and more win. No one can virtually be left behind because of gear stats and how easy it is to get exotics. I really have no respect for people who think doing the same thing over time = success. Pure skill and self improvement is how it should be.

Though the changes feel awkward they are not bad IMO. I am still doing what I want and still getting the desired rewards. We do need more armor and weapons skins that are obtainable through gameplay and not hidden by RNG lock boxes for ticket scraps.

It’s a thinly veiled attempt to boost their “metrics”. Laurels for logging in? Yeah right. Maybe try developing some worthwhile content, then I’ll log in.

Out of principle I won’t play it just for that reason.

And yet you’re happily contributing to their forum metrics?

In fairness, you can buy the black lion skins from other players, with money you can obtain from gameplay, and better yet, since you’re buying it, you don’t have to do anything specific to get it. It would be nice to have considerably more in-game skins added, but it’s not terrible now.

As for the rest, I totally agree. People are always coming on here, foil hats at the ready, devising all these reasons why ANet does this or that and how it’s all terrible and the game is doomed. As far as I can see, ANet is doing better than ever, and people are still largely satisfied with the game, forum-outrage-bandwagoners aside.

A few of the new daily achievements are actually achievements. Mostly the ones dealing with stuff like bosses or dungeons. Though even the boss achieves mostly just involve getting to the right spot at the right time and joining the zerg for a couple minutes.

But I fail to see how “Harvest 4 trees in Queensdale” or “Do events in Silverwastes” are any better than the old dailies. Unless you think being forced into a certain location makes it challenging and not just annoying.

if they revert the dailies to being mind-numbingly simple and pointless
then Actual players may Actually quit the game, instead of free-win-forum-heroes
having their tantrums
just my thoughts on this particular issue, i’m probably wrong

I remember making a joke when the NPE came along and said “What’s next? Will Anet reward us for figuring out how to log in?” and now they did just that.

Honestly I like the old dailies set up. Sure they where just mindless grinding to get them but it at least took a bit to get it.

Take today, I got the the cut down trees in Kryta, view a vista in Ascalon and spend 50 badges of honor. Took me a total of 15 mins to get my daily.

They made getting the daily 100x more easy to get than before.

I can just see now what future daily updates will look like, “Move forward one step”, “Use a weapon skill”, “Open inventory”, “Say something in chat”, “Buy something from trading post”, “Jump one time”, “Attack something” and so on.

Kill stuff to unlock weapons skills, most confusing thing I ever heard of. (sarcasm)

The 50 mob kill was boring.

What are you on about? You got that through playing the game normally.
