A underwater map.. a map without any land above water, full of depth caves and tunnels to explore where you cant see a kitten except these few dangerous monsters that illuminate area. Will it ever happen? ;o

Personally I think not. Anet have made great strides to distance themslves from underwater content, although I was surprised to find a large amount under Tangled Depths, covering a great deal of the map.

Given Anets new way of being more efficient with their maps via things like verticality, I think it is possible we could see a biome in a map given over to underwater. I’m not certain where they will include this though. The Deep Sea Dragon provides the obvious opportunity, but it’s doubtful Anet will commit so much to rehauling underwater combat and content for this to be possible. If we encounter the DSD directly (A big if), then I suspect there will a lot of island and coastal incursions.

I hope I am wrong though. I’d like to see it personally, but I think a full map/(s) given to UW would be unwelcome given the mixed reception the verticality of a jungle got.

I’d like to see a big underwater map some day if we get in to some story with the deep sea dragon. I think having a big map underwater would probably require some tweaks to underwater combat and different things, but I think it could be really cool. And maybe I just really wanna see some sea dragon minions. <:)

Thats due to the fact we poorly designed maps.. but then again.. Its jungle and we should feel lost there. Personally i have no issues navigating in hot maps except tangled depths.

Underwater map would be way easier to nativage if done properly, the only one problem i see is people refusing adapt to 3d combat.
