Guild Wars 2

I got a Monsoon staff from the COF dungeon.
I’m a Mesmer and i like staffs, so is this one worth soulbinding or should i just sell it.
It goes for like 2 gold so idk…

I know i’m supposed to go for the berserker gear, but this one has way more base damage than my current weapons (Sword/Focus, Greatsword), and it’s stronger than my previous T3 cultural staff…

I hope you don’t take this personally or as an offensive statement, but you sound like you’re pretty new to the game. If I recall correctly, “Monsoon” is not a rare weapon. It’s an exotic weapon. Since the stats are very undesirable for any build you may want to use, I would suggest you sell it on the TP. Don’t delay either, because that’s the highest price I’ve seen that staff go for.

Sell it. The staff is not a PvE weapon, it’s primarily a conditionspam weapon used in competitive (PVP) environments. You would be better off using a rare sword focus + sword offhand in PvE settings because while they might have less base damage (as weapons) compared to the exotic, the weapons offer higher overall utility and damage.

I’m not new. Had this game for about a year now, with active/inactive periods, and when i’m active i just play for fun, i don’t hardcore much (although i did on occasion).

But yeah, i forgot that orange weapons are exotic. Rare is yellow.

So sell it then huh? Might as well. I’m aiming for other stats on my weapons and armor, so i’ll end up using something else sooner or later, and after i soulbind it, i won’t get as much gold from it, selling it to the vendor.
