I got the message ...
If you truly want to preview the items, change chat from /map to /guild to /say to….
No excessive messaging problems then. =)
Erm….that message is based entirely on how many times you’ve posted the same or similar messages into chat. It doesn’t matter what you’re actually saying. (Although I suspect copied and pasted messages set it off sooner, but I don’t know that for a fact.)
You’ll get exactly the same message if you say ‘thanks’ 3 or 4 times in a row.
Also there are a few options for previewing armor skins. If they’re gem store skins you can use the preview window under the style tab. If they’re on the trading post or sold by a merchant you can just right click the name to preview it. No need to paste the codes at all.
If neither of those is an option (say for example you’re trying to see different pieces acquired from different places together) you can whisper yourself, or add an offline friend or guild member to your party and then use party chat.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
Indeed, I wanted to mix the pieces with those of other sets. So yeah, they are similar and they are copied from the wiki. I’d rather not use /guild or /local in LA, so I was sitting in EotN to not be a bother ….
I’ll test if whispering to myself works (that sounds odd
Thanks.
Edit: /whisper seems to work better.

… you don’t even want me to spend cash on gems.
While previewing armor skin parts I got, on the third item, the excessive messaging thing. So, ok, I have to conclude that the shop is not an option for armor skins.
It’s not that they don’t want you to spend gems, they just want you to shut up.
Talking has no purpose in zergs after all
You can also whisper yourself by typing /whisper yourname ‘link items here’ You get no suppression problems that way + you don’t annoy anyone with spamming item links.
• Have you heard of the city? The ancient uru? Where there was power to write worlds •
If you whisper yourself (or another of your characters) your message will never be suppressed.
