I am forced to do a stupid jumping puzzle just to get a sample for the new content.. Why ol why anet do you do this crap.. Jumping puzzles are there for those who want to do them.. I don’t want to do them, they are not fun, therefore I do not enjoy them, but I do want that sample and now you have forced me to do that blasted puzzle just to get my stupid sample…pfffftttttt!!!!!! Ok rant over where’s the tylenol..

You only need ten samples for the backpiece. There are eleven samples total. You can skip the jumping puzzle one if you want.

Or, y’know, tag along with the people who’re paying the mesmers to port them up.

Spewing on the forums doesn’t get you the sample, sadly.

Many mesmers port people so just ask from time to time if there is one on JP and you’ll have it done.

I’ve been in Southsun Cove all night, at least 95% of the time someone was in /map offering free ports to the top of the island where the sample is. I hadn’t even gotten 3 samples when I saw this and ran over to be ported up. 45 minutes into playing this new content.

wonder if they’ll end up patching it so mesmers won’t be able to give portals to skip the puzzle? o.O

I hope not, not because it’s hard to do the JPs (it’s really not) but because it will further alienate the people who really are not into them.

I don’t know if this helps, but I tell my friends who are new to JPs this: Go to Rata Sum, and practice jumping from tile to tile, you can reach a bunch of different tiles from any one tile, so practice picking a tile and try landing on it. You won’t fall because you’re on the ground already and it will help you learn to calculate your jumps. Also, do the vistas and jps in towns where you won’t have to pay waypoint fees when you fall to your death.
