Revert.

Before it’s too late, revert. Even thought it’s probably already too late.

I haven’t played for more than a year and started again last week. I was really surprised by the amount of things that were available to me account wide, it almost felt strange. But I was really enjoying my new human thief and loving the Personal Story and character progression in general. I remember I loved that about GW2. Until yesterday! I was leveling by completing hearts and taking part in Group Events and continuing my story every time I reached the “recommended” level – once I think, continuing 1 level short and sometimes I would complete a heart 1-2 levels short. At the end of the week, I logged out at lvl24 – just enough, so I could continue my story next time. But now I log in to find out I have to get 6 more levels to continue my story. Holy smokes, are you serious? Get me, I’ve been playing only for one week, so I really want to see how this is going to play out. Wouldn’t have a problem with dumping the game for the ~20gigs of HDD space.

This video perfectly sums up my feels about this update: http://youtu.be/D-On3Ya0_4Y

You call these new changes unlocks, but IMO in reality, the player is most likely going to feel locked out of something most of the time. Seriously, look at all those lock icons everywhere!

It’s too late to revert, just as you said.

Because we can’t be angry about both?

I’d say it’s too EARLY for a revert.

There’s simply no way they’re going to abandon something they worked on after less than 48 hours, and demanding them to do so is unreasonable. Period. We’ve already seen how slowly this ship turns (people only really started seeing SOME results from the first wave of CDI threads MONTHS down the road).

You don’t like it. Hell, I didn’t like the trait revamp, so this current rage over the leveling system is merely added on to my lack of compulsion to buy any new character slots.

They’re aware of how much rage it’s stirred on the Internet, but they aren’t reverting it this soon. If that is your demand, you WILL be disappointed and frankly DESERVE to be disappointed.

But I’m not sure they’ve really worked on this. These changes to the story and the stupification by locking things up is not something you need to put much thought into. If they’ve really done some research and testing, I’d like to see the numbers. I want to see how dumb we are, or they think we are, on paper.

too late.

there is a reason they have spent so many resources re-doing nearly all of their existing systems, instead of creating new content………the game isn’t doing well enough as a business w the current player-base. they need to create/retain as many new players as possible, so they put their effort there.

i hate the NPE, trait system overhaul, Megaserver, etc, but their surveys/studies told them otherwise.

better hope they are correct, or this game goes pure F2P…..and then gemstore becomes P2W.

Way too late. They would have to do more than revert to get me to consider playing this game again. They would have to actually start listening to what the players want. I can’t trust Arenanet after they created a mess like this. Simply reverting to what we had before is not enough to gain my trust.

i can just pray that they revert this…. i am certainly NOT going to level any new character and therefor not going to buy new character slots either. i had so many alts planned but i won’t play this game’s <lvl80 stuff the way it has been changed into with the feature pack.

Seems like they just copy-pasted what they did for the Chinese version of the game.

Don’t know about you guys, but the one thing I like about this update are the new collectables achievements. But that’s just me.

I’ve said it before and it feels even more so now. Arenanet/NCsoft is trolling us. None of this really makes sense and the fact that they use NPE after SWG had such an epic fail with the NGE is just comical. Its like we are an experiment to see how bad of a game they can make and how much they can tick people off and still get people to give them money.

Why they should ’’revert’’ and not create 2 modes , when you create your character ?
Such as :
a) Choose an ‘’explorer mode’’ (they current slow pace)

b) Choose ‘’hardcore mode’’ , where the mobs
(the existing current ones , in the PvE atm that does 1 damage)
that attack you , does more damage to you (you get a debuff or somethign , that you take more damage) , or they do more single target attacks that hit hard or more CC , or aoe
and
you get faster exp + the old traits system back .
But in order to unlock the old traits you need to spent ‘’the lvlig points’’ + you have to do a number of ‘’heart quest’’ + ‘’visit poi + vista’’ , or simply go and kill the mobs that the description says to kill in order to unlock it , or buy it from the vendor .

But , you get diminishing return if you do the same dynamic event (prevent farming) and you get less exp from the Eotm+WvWvW .
At 80 , all ‘’backfires are nutrilized’’ .
And you can choose to transfair between the ‘’Explorer Mode and the Hardcore’’ , but you loose a huge amount of lvls if you have unlocked many traits and you wish to travel to the ‘’Explorer Mode’’ , before you hit 60

I work for one fortune 500 international company contracted out to another fortune 500 company. I have weekly interaction with resources in Shanghai. They too hate this levelling. They had heard about what we had and they wanted that. Instead they got Lineage 2.5 with a Gemstore.

i like those too + the faster TP. but that are just 2 positive things, there are way too many negative things in this feature pack where i just wish the feature pack hadn’t been released at all !
