In this thread, only post if you’re GWAMM or 50/50 and like Guild Wars 2.

My Guild Wars 1 character name is Ahouye Tatsue.

Let’s see what the hardcore GW1 community think of this game.

If I can’t play Guild Wars 2 at work, I won’t work in Guild Wars 2 either.

Posting because I can.

My cousin has GWAMM (3X/50 I believe), and finds the game fun / enjoyable. However, he admits that it has flaws that need fixing.

I’m GWAMM 50/50. I like Guild Wars 1 and Guild Wars 2.

I think Guild Wars 2 has the potential to be an amazing game, but it needs time to mature. I’m willing to give it that time.

I’m GWAMM and 50/50 in the HoM. I had 18 characters in Guild Wars 1. In fact, my second account is at 30/50. lol

I really enjoyed playing Guild Wars 1 and played it for years. I really enjoy playing Guild Wars 2 as well.

They’re very different experiences. Guild Wars 1 had years of development behind it. Guild Wars 2 is a new game. And like all new games it has some bugs, some of which I find highly frustrating. However, I like Guild Wars 2 more than I liked Guild Wars 1.

Edit: Guild Wars 1 felt more linear, where as Guild Wars 2 I have a huge amount of freedom to go off and do what I want, and explore.

There are huge improvements in things like having a marketplace, jumping, swimming, and for the most part being able to climb where I want. I wish Guild Wars 2 didn’t have invisible walls too, but it’s still far more open than Guild Wars 1.

Never got the official GWAMM title but I was GWAMM as soon as I started playing Guild Wars (look at signature).

I have like 35/50 points, played Guild Wars for 2 almost 3 years. Great game, but I like Guild Wars 2 much more

I can’t wait to see what Guild Wars 2 is going to be like in the years to come. Guild Wars 1 when it first released was great and it got even better over time.

Guild Wars was my first MMO type game. It was affordable and no other MMO that I tried kept my attention as long as this game did. I even scoffed at how bad WoW was compared to the gameplay and skill customization GW1 gave back then. GW2 still holds true to gameplay and delivers on quest presentation.

45/50 Legend of the Mists was a good enough title for me :p

GWAMM here. Loved the first game and love the second. GW2 has a lot of things it can improve on, but it has more that it has done right in my opinion.

I do feel the GW2 world lacks some “soul” in comparison to the first, but maybe I’m just nostalgic. I do have faith in Anet to continue evolving the game to be great though. I remember being amazed at just how much you could see Anets abilities grow from Prophecies to Eye of the North. Achieving GWAMM really made me appreciate the world they have created.

gw2 is a game that is incredibly entertaining and addictive to play. imo, it’s 10 times better in every aspect when compared to gw1, with the exception of rewards and the lack of in-game alliances. the lack of alliances, we as players can work around; the lack of consistent chances at better rewards at this point cannot.

anet, pls give us a shot at a surefire known drop from a particular dungeon, similar to the opportunity to get a BDS in Fendi’s chest in gw1; or a froggy from Bogroot Growths, or the VS from Slaver’s Exile, or Zodiac weapons that are found only in The Deep and Urgoz’s Warren. sure there’s the Final Rest for SB, but lol that event isn’t even near challenging. and the Super Weapons are a good move in this direction, but they’ll only drop during the month of April.

i’d like to see the opportunity to get a different but specific loot drop from each of the dungeons that we can either choose to keep or sell on the TP. sure, we can run these dungeons until we’re blue in the face and get the exact dungeon specific weapons/armor we want, but those items are all soulbound, meaning they can’t be sold of course.

to me, this is what i miss the most about the first game. other than accumulating small chunks of gold at a time, there’s no real reason to run these dungeons in gw2 anymore after you get the armor/weaps/gear you want from them; sure there’s lodestones, but if you’re not going for a legendary weapon, they’re just turned into another small chunk of gold.

it’s soooo much more fun to run SoO in gw1 over and over than it is to run CoF p1 in gw2 for hours on end, because i know that there’s a chance to pick up a specific, unique (not green unique) weapon (BDS) each and every time i run SoO. a chance at a precursor of a weapon i care nothing about just isn’t the same, imo.

but still i love gw2, btw.

cheers.

GWAMM too (I got 4 consecutive titles + GWAMM 4 hours before GW2 launch just to see my name multiple times on the universal chat :P), and 50/50 (with “aditional” points like every HoM weapon :P).

I love GW2 it feels really dynamic and has lots of contents. However there are some things I miss from GW1, specially its simplicity in atributes and how combination of specific skills were really important. It felt a bit like “magic the gathering” in the way that skill A and skill B covered pre-requisites to make skill C great.

I think GW2 would do much better with only the 4 primary atributes and more focus on how traits affect your conditions, healing and critical strikes instead of more and more secundary atributes to make them work and complicate everything. This way you would have that “card game” effect while replacing a lot of boring traits that aren’t used at all to make interesting Trait combinations.

GW1 had simplicity done the right way with room for a lot of combos. GW2 had too many atributes for my taste and could do a lot more taking all the potential from Traits and getting rid of all the secundary attributes.

GWAMM 50/50 + a little extra. Loved GW1 to bits and also really love GW2 although they have completely different gameplay experiences. But since it is not how the game plays, but the story and the scenery it offers that change means little.

GWAMM here, 50/50. My Ritualist that I did this on was Astral Projections (which is now the name of my Mesmer).

I enjoyed Guild Wars 1 a lot, played it for about 4 years. I am enjoying Guild Wars 2 but they are so different it’s like they are totally separate games with only the lore connecting them. None of the landscape is even remotely familiar. However that difference comes with an increased ease of moving around instead of being funneled into pathways so the trade off is worth it. I admit I am missing some aspects of Guild Wars 1 like the repeatable missions, how you could move skills around, how you could move things on the UI around. However the game is still young and we can expect the Devs to work on it as it gets older.

I’m GWAMM and 50/50, my GW1 character was Godrik Gandolfi – same as my GW2 warrior listed in my sig. I now have eight GW2 chars at level 80 full exo, one of each profession.

GW1 was my first MMO and holds very fond memories for me (and for my two oldest sons who played through it with me). We love GW2 though, and although we’ve taken a few walks down memory lane in GW1, the future lies with the sequel. Now four of my sons play the game with me and we are having a great time getting our little friends and family guild into shape to work through all the dungeons.

This is truly a great game, in my opinion. It needs some time to mature in order to grow the richness and complexity we saw in GW1, but from what I’ve seen lately I’m confident we’ll get there.

Always found it a bit sad when people considered GWAMM 50/50 to mean they “finished” GW1. There’s so much content in that game, and so much of it is not tied to getting a certain number of achievements or HoM points. (Although a lot of it does give you achievements.)

I forget how many points and titles I’ve got, 40 something points (I’ll probably never get 50 because I never liked Obsidian armor, I main a ranger and I’ve mistaken it for starter armor so many times it just feels like a waste of money) and I never worried about titles.

In theory I’m still working on that game. Still got a ton of stuff I want to do, Legendary Guardian for one. But I haven’t been back nearly as much as I expected to be since GW2 came out. It might just be a prolonged “new toy” effect but I’ve found myself wanting to play this game more. I didn’t even do as much mini polar bear farming during Wintersday as in previous years.

But I’d still say I love both games and fully expect to get many more hundreds of hours of fun from them both.

Yeah it’s good as something to work towards, the problem is a lot of people saw it as the only thing to work towards. My old guild lost about 1/2 it’s members because people hit GWAMM 50/50 and just stopped playing completely, even if they still had a bunch of other things they could do and apparently loved the game.

Ah, yeah I can see that. After I hit GWAMM and 50/50 I went on to do some of the other titles I never needed for my GWAMM, like Savior of the Luxons and Legendary Defender of Ascalon.

GWAMM 50/50. Loved GW2 at launch. Have been very disappointed in the direction it’s taken since November. Enjoyed Halloween, thought Wintersday was not nearly as awesome as GW Wintersday is. SAB is fun. sPvP is an embarassment.

I love all the innovative things about the game. I can’t stand all that makes it like other MMO’s.

So overall, GW2 is pretty good, but mostly a let down because it could have been great.

I couldn’t do GWAMM. I got to 35/50 through my normal play, looked at the HOM and saw that what I would have had to do in order to get 50/50, and “noped” my way off of that website.

I am a GWAMM, and so can you! (Points to anyone who gets the reference.) I always considered GWAMM as the title of “I’ve got nothing else better to do so I guess I’ll just work on these titles.”

After reaching GWAMM status, I was just so burnt out with GW1 that I stopped playing entirely. Mind you, this was AFTER maxing out my HoM and by then, I was about 2 titles away from GWAMM so I thought, why not?

Anywho, the direction of GW2 is ok. It could definitely be A LOT better, but it could be a lot worse too. If anything I wouldn’t mind if there were a dedicated balance team where you have about 5-10 people dedicated to balancing out skills in all manners of play. Some things that could definitely improve the overall experience would be:

1. More fully explorable areas that can be used to level up. Leveling up is boring as hell when you have fully explored every zone on other characters.

2. More smaller events that do improve the backstory or narrative of a zone. Fixing that motorcycle for that Charr NPC awarded a town clothing item. Why can’t we have more small events like that just for the hell of it? It’s not required, and it can be a one time only thing too.

3. Fix the dungeons already! CM is way too much for it’s level, CoF path 1 is way too little, AC still has bugs in it.

4. Stronger narrative options for the renown hearts. We know what to do to fill up a renown heart, players just don’t know WHY they are doing these things. Besides, I would dare to assume that players tend to ignore the scout NPCs which tell you the story behind the renown hearts. This is a VERY big problem in terms of narrative for the players.

5. The hunt: Legendaries and precursors are generally either based on money, or based on luck. The problem that boils down is that there is no reliable way to acquire a legendary because players will want to rush through to get it ASAP and then complain about there being nothing to do. If anything, having a guaranteed way to acquire an account bound precursor (hell make it time gated with the option of paying increasing karma costs to speed things up) should be high up on the priority lists — along with serious skill balance passes for several professions and sPvP improvements.

6. Karma. Karma karma karma. There needs to be MORE use for karma than its current state. Right now, it’s only good for cheap leveling equipment, cultural weapon skins, maxing out cooking cheaply, and spending it on Orrian Jewel boxes. Other than that, there needs to be a lot more uses—about 3-6 more uses (including #5).

Edit: Fixed a glaring spelling mistake that changed an entire sentence.
