Heyo, so I made a post a week or two ago about how to play the tp. I took all your advice and I’ve made about 200g, (giving a friend 100g so he could finish up his legendary) and I was wondering what markets are good to play, I understand the whole patience, buy low sell high thing. But the only market I’ve found viable so far is superior runes, and this 1 certain crest. Would dyes be good? Armor? Great swords? Also, for profit, whats you minimum profit you’re willing to make? Mines 10 silver and I’m not sure if that’s to greedy or should I be willing to play lower markets. Thank you so much guys!

Btw, if your one of those people(not a bad thing) who would like to mail me in-game the info, that’s fine. I tend to see that people don’t like spreading their markets, but a few told me some in private. Also, I have about 35g atm, not including the items that haven’t sold.

PS: I’m actually hoping to make some good gold, I plan on being a Santa the day before Christmas, giving away lots of stuff.(I literally enjoy Christmas more than my own birthday lol.) but the way I’m going, I doubt I’ll be able to gift a lot of players.

Anything anyone tells you would likely not be worth doing any more by the time that you read it. Hopefully they do contact you in game though.

I’ve noticed people have started speculating on runes because of the new item coming tomorrow. Runes of Snowfall have had its supply drop in half over the past few days. I personally wouldn’t waste my time with those but it gives you an idea of things to look for as some items could potentially increase once an update releases. Not referring specifically to tomorrow’s update but just in general. Just be prepared to take a loss if you’re wrong.

I mean, I have been playing black lion chests so far, I buy a stack for 99c each, and then re-list for 1s10c, which nets me about 25s per stack. They usually well pretty fast, so I make a profit of about 1 gold per hour. Ideally if a cool weapon set comes out or there is a key sale, the price raises

So I looked at my transactions, but none of my items are selling for 44s, however for the past hour I’ve been getting 44s from the tp, any ideas as to why?

Did you take into account the tax?

there’s 10% tax at sell.

Be careful what you ask for
ANet may give it to you.

Check your sales history. You may have sold something for more than that but it will give you less once you factor in the exchange fee.

Hate to be the one to tell you this but if you’re selling at 1s10c your return after taxes is about 94c. That means you’re losing 5c per chest or 12s 50c per stack.

Yeah. He’s not taking into account the listing fee.

Look for sold items around value of 48,9s

Or if someone for some reason is selling things to your buyorders for 44s less than what you have offered :P

ok, here is the explenation i can give you cause this sometimes happends to me as well.

Lets say you want to buy 100 iron ores for 50 silver
You search the tp for iron ores, and you see the top offer has 200 iron ores listed for 50 silver.

you ofc click to instantly buy and normally you would spend the money and get the 100 iron ores.

HOWEVER sometimes during the time between you clicking on the iron ore to check the prices, and the time you actually pres instant buy, another person in the world clicks instant buy before you.

what happends is that the 200 ores that were on YOUR screen are now actually less, like 50 ores.

You STILL SEE 200 iron ores on YOUR screen when YOU click buy but you only get to buy the 50 ores for the price they were selling.

And then what happends is you get 50 iron ores but also gold you didnt spend on the other 50 ores you wanted , cause there weren’t any for that particular price anymore.

You can test this out by opening a item on tp that has a very low quantity and waiting a minute with the prices open and then trying to buy it. You will most likely get a error showing up saying that the prices are wrong or something, after which your price and quantity lists will update.
