I am not one to farm, I don’t find it fun. Running dungeons is fun…..sort of. Depends on the group you get. fractals are ok – again depends on the group.

I don’t have exotics or ascended – yes my mesmer does just fine, well I lied, all my weapons, swords, staff and underwater weapons and one piece of gear is exotic.

I run a 20/20/0/0/30 build, DS/Staff – Shatter “Like” build. With Zerker gear. So im pretty good for surviving alone or in groups.

But last night I finished the last orr map, I finished the story – really dull by the way, good job on fail Anet. But I wont get into your “story.” A week ago I finished the Flame/Frost jazz and I finish my daily in about an hour or so after I get them >.>

Now there is probably a ton I can do, One thing I am doing is exploring SC (Southsun Cove) and running the odd dungeon with the guild.

But i feel bored. There is so much from achievements, gear, maps (I explored, fully, every map involved in the story path and the flame frost (along with a couple others) and crafting (no where near maxing).

So one could argue I have TONS to do, and it’s true….

but i’m bored. It was more fun when I had a story to do, it was more fun when I had a goal to achieve and I collected things along the way….

thoughts?

The game is fun, no doubt and I love logging in……but alas im bored….

Sit back, relax, and be glad you only had to spend $60 on hours and hours and hours worth of gameplay. Not a bad deal!

Maybe play a little less? Get into other things? Try some of the other stuff in game like RP, WvW, sPvP… set your own goals…

Do you know why games like Minecraft are so wildly popular? It’s because people make their own content instead of waiting for a dev to entertain them endlessly… and while this game doesn’t have the sheer amount of creative tools that Minecraft has (or any really)… you DO… you have an imagination that should be capable of spawning endless scenarios for you to play through… you CAN move forward under your own steam into lots of arenas if you use your imagination.

Or… if that doesn’t float you boat you can go back to some of my first suggestions… like take a break to try other things…

I also got bored with the game some time ago… Then I came back and was set on trying out another profession.
Guess what? Now I´m stuck on an engineer and gameplay and bug-management got so complicated that I´m bored to death when I play any other profession or game. And now I´m set on mastering one of the (here I quote a majority of the community… my opinion is completely different) most lacking professions in the game.

… Well what I wanna try to say is: Give it time, try something else and if you want to play again, then play. That´s what a game is for, isn´t it?

I may have spent more then 60$ >.> I have an obsession with occasionally buying gems to have gold >.> aside from that, I spent 6 months getting my character to where he is now. Im stuck on mesmer – excited for tomorrows update and I might just play in SC….

I’ve found that “theorycrafting” is enjoyable to a point. How to squeeze that last little bit of damage?
If I get bored with that, I start a new character. :P

I make my own goals :p Though tommorow’s patch is going to be interesting. I really hope there are class bug fixes, I have a feeling quite a few people might quit if the bugs from beta aren’t fixed after 6 months…

WvW is the end-game, seriously. Live it and love it. Playing WvW seriously makes high-end PvE a complete joke, and it has been thoroughly enjoyable for me when all else in the game gets boring.

Sounds like its time for your guild to fill in the fun part :P At least that’s what I do. An active guild comes up with things to do in game for prizes, events you can do together. These are the things you do while waiting for expansions and addons etc. Even if there is little or no reward, an active community keeps the game fresh and new. And gives it that lemony fresh smell we love. The more guilds and people who offer events in game the more fun the game becomes. We have a playground of stuff to do, its all right there programmed for us. We just insert ideas and work off whats already done.

Some things the guild I’m in does are jumping puzzles for prizes, map exploring, dungeons, and more. When i had my own Legion in Aion I had events as well like weekly trivia, pvp battles and even game card giveaways. While some of these things are harder to give away than others its just a stepping stone to a functioning cohesive community. One that supports the games and looks outside of the box to take content to the next level. I have an example that I made by myself using my own influence and coin in game as well as buying gems to support it. It was not a guild only event, but events like this can be for anyone. Guild only, server, guesting, everyone, as long as its fun and creative people will enjoy it. Below is just a very small example of whats possible to create:

After 6 months of 12 hours per day playing with ranger I finally reached lvl 70

I hope the next patch nerfs ranger a bit, I feel way too powerful most of the time

Have you tried recreational drugs? I hear from a friend that they tend to help the tedium of boredom. As for the game, I’m afraid because of the way it was implemented (not too many skinner-box / reward grinding elements) you’re brain simply isn’t getting the release of feel good hormones usually associated with achievement and discovery since you’ve probably done most of the grindy things already. I could advise you to take a break, and hopefully one of the future content patches can give you something to do. With GW2 being B2P there’s no subscription so you can easily take breaks and come back when and if you feel like it. Perhaps the context patch tomorrow will give you a few more ours of gameplay, and perhaps next months patch will do the same.

60 bucks for hundreds of hours worth of fun well I think you got your money’s worth and then some if you come back later if you take a break.

No where else can you spend 60 dollars and get months of entertainment.

Try wvw. It took me a long time to really get into it. Once I did, however, I just use PvE for harvesting stuff and selling it to keep my wvw toon(s) in decent gear.

But PvE, fractals and dungeons just don’t cut it compared to wvw. Love it.

Go skydiving, spelunking, scuba diving, hiking, camping, sculpting, swimming, farming, dancing, singing, drawing, biking, vending, marketing, and other -ings. Then come back to gw2. Somehow, if you play continuously without fail, you’ll get bored faster. But if you have like 10 things you need to do, or if you haven’t logged on for a few days, playing it becomes so much more fun

Spoilsport, lol….

Yeah, not playing much cause you’re busy in RL can make any game a heck of a lot more fun. I guess thats the main reason I enjoy GW2 so much…cause I can’t/don’t play like some of these peeps.

Buy all the Common colors from the TP (few copper each).

Paint yourself in a million ways… have different color set up for each map aesthetic. Works every time.

Zerk is the average Joe build. Don’t pat yourself in the back too hard.

I mean this in the nicest most constructive way. You are done. Go do something else until the next expansion. It sounds like you got more than $60 worth of entertainment out of it. There is no monthly fee so leave it installed and pop back in occasionally to see if any of the monthly content additions interests you.

I believe both PvE dungeons and WvW offer major amounts of fun.
sPvP is not my thing (I don’t like the very limited customization of PvP chars) but others might find it fun too.

If you already played everything then only a good Guild or players in general can increase the longevity (unless you want some legendaries or min/max).
The fun of this game comes from playing with other people, as a single player GW2 doesn’t have much more longevity than any single player out there.

I also dont think playing a single class is enough.
I find myself playing with one of my 80s for a few weeks/months then doing the same on another 80 etc.
I’m even considering raising a new 80 but I’m still endgaged by my current ones so I keep procastrinating :p
