I`m level 80 now what ?
That’s endgame pve for you.
It’s best to find a guild that runs dungeons. But it will get boring.
For me, the thing that keeps me going is WvW. Everything else has kind of lost my interest. That being said, I greatly enjoy WvW (even if it does have its issues).
There are plenty of “completion” type things you can do though. Check out your character sheet under “Achievements.” I dont personally like that sort of thing, but plenty of people do.
Good thing to do is get full exotics too, if you have not already. Or you can start hoarding gold.
For me, wvw is the way to go.

NEVER FORGET
Pretty much the same as any other game.
Do dungeons (gw2lfg.com is great if you don’t care to join a guild)
Work on a Legendary weapon http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Legendary
World bosses and meta events http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Meta_event
Complete achievements (open your hero tab, the last tab has all the cheeves)
Fractals are crazy fun! http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Fractals_of_the_mists
WvW http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/World_versus_World
sPvp & tPvp (accessed through the Heart of the Mists)
Crafting and trading through the Black Lion Trading Post (you can learn all 8 crafts on 1 toon)
Explore builds and weapon combos. Learn how to make an effective team for w/e activity you like.
Collect gear for builds or transmuting.
That’s just off the top of my head, I’m sure there’s more

Dungeons are nice
Legendary acquisition is a joke for many but yeah you might like it, if you’re into that sort of thing
World bosses are worth a kill each or so, Meta events are usually horrific lagfests but you might like them.
Achievements, they’re not much but hey better than nothing right?
WVW is always a laugh if you can get into a wvw guild or in group etc
spvp, may as well play L.o.L
Crafting and trading, though 90% of stuff is useless unless you want to make money off the misery of legendary grinders
Builds and…lol sorry not taking that suggestion seriously I’m being lenient and “polite” as is.
collect gear for… nah just MF and Berserkers.
I’m sure there’s more too, but it won’t be much better than this list.
Yeah, pretty much the same as any other game.
Without endgame lol
Yeah, pretty much the same as any other game.
Without endgame lol
It does have an endgame, It just doesn’t have a meaningful and repeatable endgame outside of fractals. It’s not like they don’t know how to fix it anyways.
Go play another game until they launch new content. That’s what I am doing. I don’t like PvP or dungeons and there is nothing worthwhile to do in the open world. You can’t really farm due to DR and it doesn’t take long before you just can’t swing another weapon 5000 times at a monster to get an achievement.
Go play another game until they launch new content. That’s what I am doing. I don’t like PvP or dungeons and there is nothing worthwhile to do in the open world.
So then what do you do in any game seeing how thats the end game in every single MMO.

Actually, most other MMO’s have an achievement system that actually matters, GW2 has infinite resetting achievements so it doesn’t mean you really achieved anything you could just exploit the salvage one. ANet, still being clueless about what makes achievements great, are going to implement a system where you actually spend your points as currency. Lolwut? Okay… best be adding a bunch of titles then, which I’m sure they won’t. You can’t even compare achievements or inspect people.
That alone gets people out in the world in say, WoW where you can do every quest in the game which is a hell of a lot for loremaster title (IIRC). Or insane in the membrane which is imo one of the hardest titles to get, what a grind.. but you get that title to show off “the Insane”
There is nothing like that, nothing that warrants any grind having a point to it, nothing to show off that makes you stand out. No rare mounts to collect, pets are horribly designed and you have to take them out every single load and mine seemed to disappear constantly for no reason. This wasn’t a problem in GW1 because it was heavily instanced and you spent a lot of time in an area no matter where you were.
No raiding, fotm is the only ‘end-game’ content there is and it sucks, hell is there even a title for reaching the high levels of it? You don’t even get any special rewards for getting up into the 40’s, it’s honestly pathetic. Are there rare pets, anything? Ask yourself these questions.
There is nothing epic about GW2. 5 man parties are lame, even in GW1 we had 8-12 man parties. ANet makes the same exact mistakes Blizz did with D3. Made the party size smaller and the game nothing but a boring grind, taking nothing what made D2 that special favorite of many. They literally scrapped everything from GW1. I don’t even see a hint of lore honestly, except for that one part where trahearne talks about the Guild Wars extremely briefly around level 50 I think it is?
Now let’s talk about raids. 10 or 25 man parties are epic, taking out huge bosses with concentrated team synergy. (inb4 people who have never even played another MMO talk about how ez the trinity is and how they hate it) Raids contain not only epic boss fights but lore, gear, recipes, gold, achievements, tons of team work, an alchemist laying down a cauldron of flasks for your party to buff themselves etc. Comedy relief, I still remember the ‘elevator boss’ as we called it in BWD. I can’t count how many times people missed the elevator and fell to their deaths, and I do believe there was actually a counter in your character stat’s that showed how many times you died to the elevator boss.
Raids aren’t just fights, they are an experience with rewards not only in loot but the experience itself. I don’t remember anything of note that is worthy of posting in this thread about GW2 dungeons except for the mysteries titan guy that thanks you for saving him in fractals and teleports away. That was cool.
Such a huge world with nothing in it imo. I really don’t think ANet gets it when it comes to full fledged MMO’s, and they need to wake up and take notes from the big dogs that DO. Don’t even get me started on the boring trinity and combat.
(edited by Rukia.4802)
I recommend WvW, it’s the only content that’s repeatable imo.
Just starting out? Go to a map where a commander is and follow them. If you start to get into it more, look for a WvW guild and that will enhance your experience more.
The Warrior turns to the guardian and says, “Did you hear something?”
Guardian replies, “No, but how’d the elementalist die?”
I see where you are coming from, because I had a few of the same issues briefly.
I think you just need to decide what you are playing this game for. If it’s just “to play a game” then you might not have enough reason to stick around until updates come.
If you’re a normal gamer who’s playing GW2 because you heard it was a good game, then it might not have the staying power. It was a good game up to this point, but I can’t see non-MMO players sticking to it.
If you’re an MMO player, you need to figure out what interests you most. Money? Focusing on hunting rare items, flipping items, and playing with the trading post could be fun. Exploring for the sake of exploring may not be fun, but getting into a Guild (or using GW2LFG.com) would be a great way to get into the different dungeon paths as well as Fractals. If you’re a completionist, complete everything! If you’re interested in the art, maybe focus on getting exactly the armor/weapons you want. Maybe multiple sets.
PvP and WvW are always options as well. And if you’re going to use that option, I suggest making new characters for either. In PvP you are all equal and all level 80, so there is 0 grind, so newly made characters are fine to use. In WvW everyone is leveled up to 80 but isn’t technically “equal” as you will still be unlocking skills.
I also didn’t want to make extra characters at first, but eventually made 2 more in order to travel around with some new players. And I had a lot of fun with the new mechanics each class brought. I was originally a mesmer and still love it to death, but playing as a Thief was really cool, as I could dodge so much. Inititative is very cool as well.

As the title says, i cant find any good end game stuff. Map exploring isnt my style, going to dungeons is, cause its hard to find a group, and i dont like to level a new character.
Seriously what should i do ? its kinda ending boring now.
Get in a Guild, also more stuff inbound with the Jan/Feb/march updats

There is no endgame, certainly no PvE. Your character just stagnates.

Those achievement systems DO matter. They are publicly displayed, they are social… they matter. Here? I bet many players don’t even realize there IS an achievement system.

well…once people used to answer in this topics like this:
- The whole leveling is your end game because you can do everything even in lvl 1
You could farm Orr, but you will tire of that quickly when you discover one of Anet’s nasty little surprises…. Drop Reduction!
There is nothing epic about GW2. 5 man parties are lame, even in GW1 we had 8-12 man parties. ANet makes the same exact mistakes Blizz did with D3. 1st off D1 and D2 had mostly a single player focused fan base ((although multie play was a good option))
and as for GW2 lore you can see plently of Lore all over the world, than ((as i think i have told you befor)) the Destiny’s edge story often go’s back to GW1 even so far as to talk about Glint.
as for the bit about not seeing it much in your story. why the hell if WW3 is going down would i spend much time talking about WW2.
((and than there is the hole fact that for many the GW world and lore is brand new and to throw all the lore at them from GW1 would probably seem over welming. ))

well im actually enjoying the game as it is ((im only here now because its almost time for work)) but never the less there is more content ((with a grater level 80 focus)) comeing down the pipe line
like every MMO ever, being in a guild helps its longgevity
Actually, most other MMO’s have an achievement system that actually matters,
What game would that be? If you’re referring to titles to ‘show off’ or mounts to again ‘show off’ then that doesn’t matter, it’s just ego stroking.
You can’t even compare achievements or inspect people.
Who cares? Other than to see what a particular skin is which would be doubtful, why do you need to inspect other players? So you can laugh at them, post on the forums about how people don’t gear properly or don’t use the proper stats? What possible reason do you have to inspect other characters? And why do you care what achievements other people have completed? I’m being serious, why?
There is nothing like that, nothing that warrants any grind having a point to it, nothing to show off that makes you stand out.
And there it is. Nothing to show how special you are in comparison to other players. Nothing to say, I’m better than you. Really, if you want a hierarchy within the player base go play a game that lets some players feel superior to others so they can take the obvious step by calling the so called “less” players names, make fun of them and generally act like kitten. There is already a game for that and it has the worst playerbase ever.
Thank god for no raiding. Really. Finally a game that is not raid focused.
Now let’s talk about raids. 10 or 25 man parties are epic, taking out huge bosses with concentrated team synergy. (inb4 people who have never even played another MMO talk about how ez the trinity is and how they hate it)
No, no they are not epic. They are awful. Horrible. I did play “another” MMO for 7 years and raids are old, over done content that has been exhausted. GW2 IS NOT THAT MMO! It is different.
I really don’t think ANet gets it when it comes to full fledged MMO’s, and they need to wake up and take notes from the big dogs that DO. Don’t even get me started on the boring trinity and combat.
Anet does get their playerbase. If you are so enamored with another MMO, why don’t you go play that? It has all the things you are complaining about. But don’t try and ruin GW2 to make it into a clone of another game that has already been done and played to death. GW2 won’t survive copying ‘that’ game. People are tired of ‘that’ game, tired of the mechanics, the game play, all of it. Players want something different. GW2 delivers something different for those players looking for a long term, fresh new game.

I AM playing that other MMO, and yes people want to be a special snowflake why else would we want different skins and dye’s, to make our characters look good and customize our appearance. I bet you if character appearance was only client side and everyone was in ugly grey armor except themselves it would turn 90% of the playerbase off.
And I’m not the one trying to make GW2 the complete opposite of GW1, ANet is. They’re the ones making a grindfest with crap drops and one pvp mode, the hell? I would much prefer a GW1.5 so don’t think I want GW2 to become WoW, it’s obvious they are heading in that direction already from the decisions they’ve made so they may as well do it RIGHT is my point in that entire post.
So yes, we need raids, we need a working achievement system, we need all of that stuff if ANet keeps going in this direction. Otherwise, make a real Guild Wars game.
Btw if you’re so against the special snowflake fluff, tell me why I’m curious how it affects you in any way.
fun game, but gets boring quickly… play something else until monthly update
So yes, we need raids,
We need raids? Maybe you need raids, I certainly don’t. There are hundreds of raiding games, not every mmo has to have raids.

I AM playing that other MMO
Stay there then? Is it some kind of full-time hobby of yours to complain about and insult something you don’t even play? You’re here complaining about this game seemingly 24-7, I’m surprised you find the time to raid in that other MMO.
The point is, this game is not like other MMOs and to 90%+ of its playerbase, that seems to be a good thing because if you didn’t notice, that’s how it was marketed. Heck, some people even play more than one MMO because they’re different.
If GW2 were more like WoW for example, I’d be disappointed because I came to GW2 for something a little more original. Every game for years as been essentially a copy paste of that formula and when something new comes along, the whiners that were begging for originality are saying that they want the clones back.
Seriously Rukia, I hope somebody pays you well to act like a disgruntled gamer because I don’t see how this game not having what you like affects you at all.
Dungeons, fractals, achievements, WvW, legendaries, and exploration.
If you find those lacking, come back at the end of January, February, and March.
I still find stuff to keep myself busy, though. People were this way about GW1 when it came out as well. if you want to see what individuals were saying about GW1 back in 2005, check my sig…

Read through it and found “So, you’ve played the game for a while, had eough of it, only thing left to do is bash the game on forums..” which just reminds me of what people are doing right now.

Oh you mean titles no one cares about except the player who has them (and usually not even that person). Consider that the vast majority of achievements in WoW don’t even have any title associated with them, and the whole system is as basically pointless as it is in GW2.

Wrong and you opinion on the matter of them caring or not. There are many people who do in fact care about achievement points and titles because it shows off their prestige.
Blind fanboys that only quote one line out of each post? Check.
Not really worthy of replying if that’s all you’re going to do, and not even argue a valid point.
Don’t do that. You’re one of the few people I disagree with but usually still respect

We need raids? Maybe you need raids, I certainly don’t. There are hundreds of raiding games, not every mmo has to have raids.
Raids are the worst part of WoW. 5-mans used to be meaningful but each expansion they have devalued them until currently they are 100% pointless to do. You can literally gear up faster for better gear doing just dailies and going afk in raid finder. I’m very happy this game does not have them.

Raids are a large group of people in an organized setting, I’m really not sure why you wouldn’t want this in GW2. So more faceroll chaotic dungeons would be better then? How about ANet letting us get at the very least 10 man grouping and have fights that require combo fields and team work (read:REQUIRE). I honestly question myself every time someone says they don’t want raids in GW2. It would only be for the better.
As everyone keeps telling me, WoW is a different game, why would raids be the same in GW2 as they are there? All I want is challenging pve content without having to grind a dungeon (fractals) 40 times over to get to that point. In WoW there are bosses you sometimes spend a month or more on because they are difficult and take tons of practice. I have not seen anything remotely close to that in GW2. And since I can’t occupy myself with a system like endless builds in GW1 there is nothing to do but grind fractals or zerg in WvW or play the same old boring conquest pvp map 24/7.
The world is dead, it needs a challenge, something people can work for, not just more rewards. It needs that experience. ANet could open raids all over tyria and you have to do a massive chain-event to open it, etc. endless possibilities. But oh no, the mere thought of raids is horrible because we can’t have any WoW in our GW now can we?

That’s all you had to say, dude :/
its kinda sad that you have nothing better to do then talk crap about a game you hate rukia….if wows so great go play it and get off the GW 2 forums
If your bored at 80 level another character until future updates btw.

Don’t be rude -_-
I would like to see some of Rukia’s comments about other games implemented, but I still am a firm believer that 20 man content, if implemented, would DEFINITELY not be in the form that any raiders are familiar with. This is due to the absence of the trinity.
I’m not saying it’s not impossible. I’m just saying that it would need to be very creative, with combat possibly not even being the primary mechanic determining success.
“A release is 7 days or less away or has just happened within the last 7 days…

Haven’t you read thousands of forum posts by now on this subject? They all say the same – nothing. This game has nothing WORTH doing. Quit it, and play something worth your time.
I really do not understand why so many people here think it’s a bad thing to compare a game to WoW, or any other game for that matter. Sure, GW2 is not WoW, and of course we shouldn’t implement something just because it’s in WoW. But on the other hand, we shouldn’t not implement something just because it’s in WoW, simply for the sake of trying to be different.
I have yet to see a good argument against implementing raids. If it’s because of limited resources, incompatible coding, and all that, fine. But to say that it cheapens the experience of regular dungeons or that it simply makes the game another WoW clone doesn’t make sense at all. If you don’t like raids, then it’s very simple: treat it as yet another optional content, and don’t do it. Many people here (myself included) feel that GW2 does not have enough to do at endgame. Raids will be a great addition that have proven very popular in a lot of other MMOs. What’s wrong with suggesting something that we believe will improve an otherwise rather stale endgame?
Maybe you should be playing a game that is totally dungeon focused for the end game content. This is not that kind of game.

I have yet to see one either, it seems to be the norm that WoW is evil and anything that in entails should not be in GW2 no matter if it improves the game or not. I think it would not only give us a more robust end game but drastically increase the games population.
The raiding scene is pretty huge.
I have yet to see a good argument against implementing raids. If it’s because of limited resources, incompatible coding, and all that, fine. But to say that it cheapens the experience of regular dungeons or that it simply makes the game another WoW clone doesn’t make sense at all. What they should do, and what I was expecting the Guild Missions to be, but apparently they aren’t going to be that, are huge event chains, like taking the Temple of Balthazar or Fighting the Claw of Jormag in an “instaced” setting.
That is, Guild groups of 10-15 people, like raids, to finish the exact same PVE events but in an instanced setting, without a massive zerg, with coordinated tactics. The bosses are there, the lore is there, the bosses are there, the mechanics are there, ok they could use a bit of a tweak to make them a LOT harder but you get my idea. They should also be dailies (like the FotM) or even weekly events to prevent the death of Open world PVE, no who am I kidding, Open World bosses wouldn’t die, not everyone could run those “raids” so unless they made them super easy, there is no reason for their Open World PVE version to die.
That’s my idea of how a raid could be implemented in Guild Wars 2, their “version” is massive world boss fights that in the begining worked fine, even Shatterer was a challenging fight when the highest level character on any server was 45 without full exotics. I believe I’m not talking only for myself, but when I fought my first Dragon I was excited, it was a unique encounter. But in the end these “end game” events that would “Replace” raids were turned into boring 1111111111 zergfest spam events just for the loot, the highest challenge in them is finding WHEN they spawn, that’s why websites were formed to track their respawn timers. “When is Shatter up to get my loot?” is the regular question in map chat, no tactics, no challenge.
And then people complain they don’t get good drops from them. From what? From a “I press 1 for a few mins and win” encounter? Should encounters like that really have good drops?
Of course the big disadvantage of having raid content is the loot. Raids tend to have the best loot, that is also exclusive to them. That isn’t good design for me, the “instanced” versions should give the exact same drops (in terms of quality) but with better RNG chances, or give a reward like the dialy/monthly in Fractals.
That way, all players of all skill levels could get the gear they want. One might have to plow through lots of RNG, pay with gold etc, the other one fight through impossible content to get it faster but certainly not easier. Effort should be rewarded but NOT with exclusive gear.
On Topic now: I’m running Fractals, to get to as high level as I can, I could care less about the Rings or any drops, I’m doing it for the challenge, for the thrill of overcoming a difficult fight/dungeon (Which by now they aren’t as difficult, now that I learned all tactics, but you get my idea)
I’m also playing sPVP, I find structure game enjoyable and fun, also there is progression in terms of rank that is also something to push me forward, I could care less about rewards there too.
When they implement their progression for WvW I will start organizing more guild runs there too.
As you can see, if you are a player that wants better gear only, you won’t find the same depth in Guild Wars 2 than in other games, but there is still lots to do. How many gear sets do you have? Getting one full Exotic set isn’t the end of the game, versatility is important, many weapon sets, many armor sets for any situations is what can drive a max level player to play, then overcoming challenges.
As the title says, i cant find any good end game stuff. Map exploring isnt my style, going to dungeons is, cause its hard to find a group, and i dont like to level a new character.
Seriously what should i do ? its kinda ending boring now.
1/ have fun. Seriously. The whole world is there for you to explore, the entire world can be enjoyed at lvl80.
2/ for dungeons, either get a guild or www.gw2lfg.com. I find dungeons in minutes there, any time of the day.
3/ hunt achievements, do jumping puzzles, kill the big dragons and go for a craft
4/ set your eyes on a cool weapon such as a legendary or other nice design
Anyhow, there’s plenty to do at lvl80. If you don’t want to do any of that …… well, I can’t help you with that.
