Play whatever race/class combination you want. Racial skills are in many cases inferior to class elite skills anyway.

I think Sea of Sorrows is the unofficial oceanic server.

As for class. Depends on what you want. Want a DPS guy who won’t die immediately? Warrior. Want a guy who can take a small wars worth of a beating, put out a nice amount of DPS and support his team? Guardian. Want a person who instagibs things? Thief. Along the lines of that. Go check out the class sub forums.

As for species/race. I tend to like them based on how well they are made artistically and the lore following them. Such as most human characters are ugly and the human lore is filled with pansies who whine about everything. Though just go with what appeals to you here.

Racial skills are obsolete in most cases, so don’t worry about them too much.

Wrong forum, but:

The one you like the look of most. Humans are good, Norns if you like your armor and weapon graphics to be as big as possible, Charr for their awesome quadrupedal animation, Asura for the even more awesome always-on-the-tip-of-falling-over animations and Sylvari… because, well, someone has to play them.

Charr and Norns have the most camera troubles for jumping puzzles, IMO, something to consider.

Base your decision on the racial skills if having as effective a character as possible is important to you.

2. which profession should i choose and why.

All IMO:

Guardian if you like to aid others, Mesmer for great fun and a ‘slippery’ style of play, Warrior for simplicity and all-round solid performance, Thief for crazy one-on-one damage, Engineer for the gadgets, Necromancer for awesome style and ‘pulling-back-from-the-brink’ playstyle, Ranger for company and Elementalist for crazy AoE damage and high utility if you like ‘stance-dancing’.

3. which server should i play on? i live in Sydney, Australia.
Dunno, my server (EU Desolation) is very active and a great server to be on, not sure how it would be for you ping-wise.

Well race this is up to prefence. I perfer human but thats because I can’t imagine beiing anything else though an elf (not the salad people) would be fine.

Profession: What you can do is rush the beginning part head to Lion Arch then to the Mists where you can try every weapon and skill set. I chose guardian since that seemed closesed to a devish (magic warrior thing).

No idea about the server I live in Canada hehe..Sorry about that.
