I’m sick of these changes to leveling up. I’ve never seen an MMO spend more time on “new players” then GW2. I understand you have to tailor to new players, and they bring new revenue into the game, but you’ve been alienating your player base over the last year.
Players on these forums have repeatedly asked for content, such as a way to craft precursors, or new ways to balance WvW. Instead, we we’ve had two MAJOR changes to the dynamics of leveling up a character.
First, traits were removed, forcing players into content they might not have any interest in completing just to unlock the versatility of their chosen class. I was not fortunate enough to make more characters at launch, but now that I want to I feel like I’ve been punished because I have to either spend gold (which I don’t have enough of because I’m trying buy a precursor that seems to go up in price every week) or be forced to play content that I’ve already played through, or have no interest in playing.
Now I’m forced to sit through a tediously, boring process just to unlock skills and map icons? No thank you sir.
If you have a level 80 let us level however we want, give us all our traits and just work on making new content for low levels and high levels alike.
Stop wasting time trying to create a new formula. Guild Wars 2 got it right the first time, you have great reviews, and people praised it at release, no on said it was overly complicated, people were not complaining about being “overwhelmed.”
Instead you’ve alienated a player base that already felt alienated. This is how MMO’s die. And I don’t want Guild War 2 to die, I want to be excited about the future of this game, not worried about where it’s going.
