I miss not being able to play ;-;
My Acer Aspire 4820TG from the year 2010 can play GW2 on low settings with constant 30fps (unless in a massive EOTM zerg). I’m sure if you buy anything with a proper graphics card from 2011 onwards you should be fine.
Working on: Engineer
I play on my toshiba for 2 something years now, running a decent 60-30 fps, only in world bossed it drops around 10. Buy a cooler it will help a lot.
The Asus ROG laptops have some gaming chops to them for relatively decent price points.
Any laptop built in the last 5 years with an intel integrated chipset could play the game on low/medium at 15/20 FPS.
I dread to think how old your laptop was
I now have this laptop, an ASUS K55V, and have no problems, my ingame graphics settings are mostly pretty high so Tyria not only functions for me now, but is also beautiful
http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/laptops/52287/asus-k55vd-review I got mine for £300 by shopping around. If you’re in the US you might be able to get one even cheaper, consumer electronics are relatively expensive in the UK.
Hi, I would like to inquire as well what a decent, cheap lap-top would be to run GW2 on. I don’t care if it’s absolute mininum settings only I just want something to do (crafting, buying/selling on TP) in the meantime during my breaks at work.
My budget is probz $400 or less (Aussie).

Unless you absolutely 100% NEED a laptop for business/study reasons, I strongly, strongly advise anyone on a budget to go for a desktop. You get far, far more for far less with a desktop over a laptop
I usually don’t stay in one place longer than 5 days and I carry a desktop around with me, just look into a compact tower with a handle and a carrying case for a monitor
