I tried using the search feature for this, but I either wasn’t specific enough or any topics/posts on this has been deleted.

Anywho….

Does anyone know why the gorgeous log in screen that was used during the Beta weekend events was dropped for the current version that we have been using since launch?
I thought that was one of the best log in screens I’ve seen in any MMO I’ve played in my 14 years of on-line playing.

Do you think there’s any chance we could get that back?

Yeah I miss it too. It was epic waiting for the release with that thing

You have my vote. That is a very nice login screen. Why scrap it over the existing?

That login screen certainly did give a great first impression! Such an awesome thing to see when I logged onto GW (beta of course) for the first time. I wonder why they changed it.

It made my heart go thump thump when opening it. In a good way though.

I wish Anet would bring it back… I really liked it!

I remember getting the chills when I saw it for the first time when me and my friends were waiting till they open the betatests.

I could be wrong (I’m at work so can’t try on the game) but can’t you ‘log out’ from the character select screen (not quit) and it still takes you back to that lovely screen?

Seem to remember you could do something like that anyway, been a while since i tried it.

The same reason as to why they got rid of the first login character selector screen in GW1.

dont remember a different login screen than the one i saw for 5 years

Well GW1 is nearly 8 years old.

No, unfortunately it takes you back to the launcher, quitting just shurs everything off. Wkuld love for that login screen to be included as a mod but I think they went with this method due to efficiency (seeing news and logging in straight to the game)
