I miss the missions from GW
Just first like to say that being a big guild wars fan myself, I loved the first games played through them because they were fun and enjoyable. As for the personal story I find it the biggest grind ever. Find myself running through missions not enjoying them just to get them done. Also not taking advantage of the beautiful graphics the game has to offer. I also think that at the end of the first guild wars games there was a sense of purpose, comparing this to the new game finding yourself going from place to place on the map doing very little.
Also I totally agree with you that they should go back to group missions, not silly single player mode, In my option I bought the game to play with friends, not by myself.
I absolutely despised the entire mission system of GW1. Many of those I played with to get through them would discuss this same feeling.
I much prefer how GW2 is working out for levelling, but I also do not care for the arbitrary level 80 thing to appease kids who can’t handle bragging about their maxed level character only being 20 to their WoW friends.
We all have our opinions.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
I absolutely agree OP. Very disappointed that the story in an MMO is single player. I made almost all my friends in GW1 because we were forced to spend a half hour or so together to advance the story.
I like this system in GW2 over GW1. I like how i can do the story alone. GW1 forced you to group that isnt the future of mmos this isnt gw1 this isnt everquest which both forced you to group that ruins mmos people want to be able to accomplish something without having to spend hours and hours looking for people. This system that GW2 uses is perfect for modern mmos and is the future to mmos.
I enjoyed the missions of GW1 much more than I enjoy the dungeons in GW2. I hardly consider attacking one boss for five minutes entertaining. The ‘MMO-ness’ that has seeped into GW2 is bearable to me just because there are a lot of other features in the game that keep me playing; the good outweighs the bad.
I like to stick to the open world since it feels more like the missions in GW1 really.

Actually you didn’t have to group in GW1. Henchmen and heroes made a lot of the content soloable.
GW1 and GW2 are two completely different games. GW1 did its own thing, GW2 is what you would expect from an MMO, though it does a lot of things like questing, crafting and PVP better.
