I pity beautiful artwork
go visit if it suits your fancy.
or make an alt.
or grind the fractals.
your call.
personally i do all my crafting and banking in DR or the grove. I rarely go to L.A. I like the other cities better.
Well don’t you notice less people since the beginning of the game
Plus a free teleport via HoM—> LA saves you a few silver from teleporting to other cities
I would suggest a free teleport system to your home city
reality is;
people are scared of stepping out of the fractal treadmill right now, because they might not find a group later on.
aint it sad
I do my ‘business’ in Rata Sum… all of the crafting stations, TP, and banks are all very close together.
I ‘hang out’ in LA for social purposes.
I like the look of those places but trying to navigate them makes me wish I have the private parts, of the person who made them, in a vice.
Also, the above poster is right. And it is sad :/
Yes, the introduction of vertical progression obsoletes a lot of previous content. That’s why I’m surprised that game after game uses this. More vertical progression = more content that a player only uses briefly.
If they made my personal area more um…. Personal in my home city, I would love to hang out there. Unfortunately that area is just so blah and empty and meaningless I might as well hang out in the main hub. I don’t do it out of love for LA, I just don’t see as much worth as staying in my home city.

Don’t make this a backhanded attempt at bringing up ‘progression’… the home cities were fairly empty even before that. Stay on topic.
I do all my stuff at one of the little outposts in the norn starting zone. Cities are to much of a pain to run around plus I get to help out new people do chain events.
They should make a /city chat so all city chats would be linked together. That way you wouldn’t have to just sit in Lion’s Arch.

Sorry you dislike my observations on this subject. While you are correct that it probably isn’t applicable to the cities themselves, it most definitely does have an effect on the “combat” zones outside the cities. Many of these areas are very well done and have excellent artwork.

…Yes. Yes! This is a pretty elegant solution!
well LA is free to go to, and has all the portals. it’s sad because the other cities are awesome. rata sum is my favorite area in the game, but beyond the eye candy there’s no reason to go there.

I always thought this game was a bit quiet without any kind of server-wide chat channel. Even a trade channel or something that allows people to chat where ever they are in the world.

It would be really useful as well to have a worldwide channel. You could continue to play while waiting for a group. If they needed a “call to arms” to go help in wvw they would reach people. Being pigeon holed into LA is boring.
I feel sorry for places like Hoelbrak and Rata Sum(although this was a extremely confusing place) which required alot of effort and time for the devs, but I feel it’s all going to waste because of Lion’s Arch
Lion’s arch simply provides everything for you so why stay in beginning areas. I think Anet should provide some incentive to stay in your homeland
We took a comment about the beautiful art design like this . . .
. . . and we turned it into a discussion about the Fractals and grind.
My God, what have we become?!

On topic, I’m more a fan of Divinity’s Reach ankittenotally trying to measure it every time i stop in so I can tell exactly how many meters it is. For research.
