I play 45 min per day to GW2
Your english is better than my…<insert language here>
Good enough
With 45 min of game per day, I have the same stuff, the same skin, the same advantage than a player who play 8 hours per day.
The first part is not true, the second one is a design choice unique to GW2. It was well known we wouldn’t have a gear treadmill and easy to reach stat-cap before release. Your loss if you bought something you wouldn’t have enjoyed. Devs already added ascended, go back to WoW and leave us alone if you want a gear treadmill.

Opinions are a great thing. You play 45 minutes a day. Great!
I play several hours a day, Great!
You understand?
The way i see it you just don’t want to play the game. Because there is a lot to do.
You can do the living stories, dungeons, fractals and many more things.
You say that dungeons aren’t rewarding, next week they will handle with this problem by giving each path you do (for the first time that day) a gold bonus of 1-3G, depending on the lenght and difficulty.
If you just go Akitten a PvP match, i don’t think you want to do PvP, you are just grinding the laurel on that way.
Next week there also comes a new PvP mode, solo PvP, with its own leaderbord.
With your 45 mins a day, i don’t think you have the same stuff as all the others. You force yourself to play, those who play 8 hours a day may have the same skins etc, but they actually have fun playing the game.
Here’s my attempt to translate
Hellow.
Just to say, GW2 is poorly designed. I play no more than 45 minutes a day!
Summary :
- Bad connection
- I sPvP but afk for my laurels
- I do WvW JP for quick badges
- LogoutThen I go play other games where I play more than 45 mins a day!
Now, I wanna make a summary to this game :
PvE : What’s the point of this? Dungeon is so poorly rewarded
SPvP: Beta tested since release, it’s not really innovative
WvW : ?Conclusion: ??
With 45 min of game per day, I have the same stuff, the same skin, the same advantage than a player who play 8 hours per day.
Ps : Sorry I’m not rly good in english, But devs just look english comment…

Oh wow you afkleech in PvP, you are awesome.
If you don’t like the game why bother playing it at all? Do you know that there is more to a rpg besides rising gear numbers? Why do people who don’t like RPGs at all get even attracted to mmorpgs?
Currently playing Heart of Thorns.

I wait than blizzard buy Anet. xD
I joke… (Or not ?)
Hello.
Just here to say that GW2 has poor content. It’s so bad I play for 45 minutes per day AT MOST !!
Summary :
- Heart of the Mists (sPvP) I play one match, then afk for 2 more.
- I finish my daily.
- I quickly do a [few] jumping puzzle[s] in WvW for somes badges of honor.
- LogoutAfter that, I go to another game with real content… and I can play much more than 45 min in those games.
Now, I wanna summarize this game’s faults:
PvE : What’s the point? The reward for dungeons is terrible!
SPvP: Eh? After beta testing for a year there’s only one game mode? Really innovative for the 19th century (200 years ago). [TN]
WvW : Zerg or die! Conclusion: When the truth contained? [TN] With real rewards and content that makes it interesting, players will want to persevere. In short, the kind of content makes the game.
With 45 minutes of playtime per day, I have the same stuff as a player who plays 8 hours a day.
[TN]: I think he meant to type 20th century, because he was trying to compare the game to the 1990’s. But it’s funnier keeping it at 19th century, since 114 years ago, this game really would have been innovative (because it would have brought electricity, internet, and computers back in time!)
For the “When the truth contained?” I think he meant something along the lines of “Now for my honest opinion about the content?” but I can’t be sure.
As for my response…?
Hellow.
Just for say, that LoL have so poor contained. That I just play 45 min per day MAX !!
Summary :
- Connection
- Play game → match (I play one match, then ragequit for two others)
I have my FWotD.
- I go quickly in ranked for some elo.
- Logout
And After I go to an other game with real contained, And I can play much more than 45 min in others games.
Now, I wanna make a summary to this game :
Normal : what’s the use of ? The reward on game is so poor…
Ranked: Euh ? Beta test since 3 years. Just one play mode, rly innovative for 19th century.
Bots : Riot, or die !
Conclusion: when the truth contained? With true reward. Contained the kind of interesting that makes you want to persevere. In short, the kind of which contained no game is on.
With 45 min of game per day, I have the same stuff, the same skin, the same advantage than a player who play 8 hours per day.
I PLAY THE GAME WITH THE VERY MINIMUM TIME SPENT ON IT. IT’S GOT A SMALL AMOUNT OF CONTENT!
Said the OP.
I log into WoW. I do my dailies (uuuuuugh). I sit in Org for 8 hours.
contained.
- Heart of the mists -> BG (I play one BG, I afk for two others BG)
I have my laurel.
So, you cause distress on other players and exploit the game’s systems for rewards each day?
You do know that both of those things are against the game’s rules and can get you suspended/banned, right? You JUST admitted to breaking the game’s rules for reward purposes.
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/legal/guild-wars-2-rules-of-conduct/
- While participating in Plaver-vs-Player (PvP) gameplay, you will not participate in any form of match manipulation. Match manipulation is defined as any action taken to fix or manipulate the outcome of a match or alter or manipulate the rankings or ratings of the ladder. This also includes disrupting other people’s game experience by not actively participating in matches in good faith, a.k.a leeching.
So basically you just gave reasons for GM’s to visually watch activity on your account, and if…when you are seen doing this you’ll be punished. Nice job.
To the topic of this game, which seems to be that GW2 isn’t attention grabbing enough for the OP, I’d say that’s a personal dilemma. For me, I can do 6-12 or more sPvP games in a row without being bored; I can do many other things in this game that are fun for nearly hours on end (Southsun Survival being my new favorite). The game is fun for many, but it’s not for everyone. No game is. /end
45 mins a day on a game you do not like? That seems odd to me. Some people that is all they have available to play.
With 45 min of game per day, I have the same stuff, the same skin, the same advantage than a player who play 8 hours per day.
I personally love this game and the way it is set up.. but it sounds like what you want is pvp where the players that have played a long time and have gear can one shot new pvp players that have not played long enough to gain gear.. I hate that in other games and love that it is based on how you play not how long you have played.

So you think the point of playing a mmo is chasing a carrot on a stick?
WoW seriously did ruin the mindset of many players.

The game isn’t challenging. Repetitive easy tasks are boring. It’s completely normal to get bored from a simple laundry list of things to do.
…
With 45 min of game per day, I have the same stuff, …
Actually no, you don’t.
I have a lot of fun.
I think the problem is that you shouldn’t play the game rewards, you should play it for the fun of playing it.
I frequently find that if I focus on the reward I don’t enjoy myself very much. If I decide to grind out COF, or I play the TP, or I just try do my daily / monthly then I’m quickly bored and frustrated.
On the other hand, if I log in and decide what I want to do for fun and do that, I have a much better play experience. For example, sometimes I want to try a new jumping puzzle, so I pick one I haven’t done and go do it. Although there is a chest at the end, nobody is going to spend however long (15 minutes or so the first time) for a support token, 2 blues, and a green.
Other times I feel like running around in WvW, so I do that. Sometimes I want to run a dungeon. About once every couple of months I get it into my head to do a fractal (which always reminds me why I don’t do fractals).
Sometimes I feel like working toward map completion. (this is usually when I just want to waste a little time).
At almost no point am I doing any of it for the rewards it provides.
Sometimes I don’t really want to do anything at all. In which case I don’t log in, or I log in, realize nothing appeals to me, and log out.
One question here… you say you just log for 45 mins to do BG, which you don’t enjoy (as you said yourself to AFK on them) to get a laurel, then do a jumping puzzle for badges of honor and log out and go play other games… so, my question is…. why bother?
You’re obviously not having fun with the game, and it’s perfectly ok, not every game is designed for everyone, so why play it in the first place? Why not just go play the other games you say you spend a lot more time playing and I guess having much more fun in the first place?. Playing a game is exactly that, play, something you do for no other reason than to have fun, nobody is paying (unless of course it’s a job for you, like play testing), nobody is forcing you.
It’s just different mindsets for different games. I log (or try to, at least) everyday not because of a laurel, or because there’s something I need to do, I log just because I find it fun, and I do things I find fun doing, nothing else. While it’s going on a tangent, for example everyone complains about hitting F 300 times for the piñatas in the dragon bash… and guess what, I found it really boring as well, so I just didn’t do it (unless a piñata happened to be where I was, like the one next to the repairman in LA), and I still got the meta without that achievement. For my it’s just that simple, if you find it fun, play, if you don’t, play somthing else.

Actually you are missing my point completly, I’ll try to make it clear.
What I was trying to say is, while he plays 45 minutes without fun, I can play several hours with fun, which concludes that it’s his fault, not the game’s fault.

Yes and no. I think the game has some screwy incentives. Generally earning laurels isn’t very much fun.
It’s like ANet sets a trap, “I’ll give you a shiny if you just agree to let me bore you for 20 minutes.” ANet shouldn’t do that. That’s on Anet.
In contrast, you can still get the shiny if you just do what you feel like doing and mop up later. Instead the OP tries to bee line to the shiney. The OP shouldn’t do that. That’s on the OP..
Just stop playing Guild Wars? It’s better for everyone.
1. You can use those 45min for your other games.
2. You don’t ruin 2 pvp games for the people that actually enjoy it.
3. Less complaining.
What’s holding you here? I mean why bother farming those laurels, if you aren’t going to use them?

Of course this game isn’t perfect and much needs to be improved, but threads of this kind aren’t helping anyone. I’m a Gw2 fanboy, I admit it, I follow Anet blindly into hell, but I really welcome constructive and well written feedback, and Anet probably does the same. But on the other side threads like this make me angry.

actually TYPE IT next time

I agree (+1). I enjoy the game a great deal. I but from time to time I get into a rut, usually (for me) that happens when I’m chasing something that ANet sets out as a goal. It’s much more fun to play in the sandbox. What I find, it that immediately when I decide not to chase whatever goal it is, I start having a good time again.
I really don’t know how to stop this. Some people like having goals laid out for them, some people don’t. I like to play for fun rather than for a reward. My point to the OP is that perhaps he got caught up playing for the reward and not the fun.
Yeah…. I sort of… stopped at ‘I play one match, then afk the other 2 I need for my laurel’ That’s not playing, that’s being a kitten to people that do want to play.
While I’m sorry that you aren’t happy with the game, that’s the risk you take with things in life. We knew well before launch that this wouldn’t be a stat progression game, that WvW isnt intended to be ‘balanced’ in any sense of the word, that playing 8 hours wasn’t going to give you any type of advantage over someone that can only play say 2, etc.
Logging in to afk isn’t playing. Its simply wasting your, and other people’s, time. I would suggest finding a game you that you do enjoy, and play that. Considering how you are ‘playing’ this one, it is obviously not it.
Wow, it seems that GW2 is doing a perfect job to allow players to play the game as they like.
I mean what other game will let you do all that and still not fall behind players who play for more hours?
Some people play because they enjoy the experience, others force themselves to play because missing out on anything is simply unacceptable. If I play like OP…. 45 min would be like an eternity X(
Go ahead and quit. I play (roughly) like TooBz, agree with his philosophy and wouldn’t call myself casual by any mean.
You know what’s not casual, but hardcore? Competitive CounterStrike teams. I tried playing in one of those (and failed terribly) for fun, not because Valve gives them rewards (they don’t).

Why? Because games are supposed to be about the rewards? When’s the last time you played a board game where you played for the loot? You play monopoly for the fake paper money? No, you play because you like it. It feels good to beat your friends because you had better luck or better skill. The cash and tiles are a means to an end. They mean nothing in the grand scheme because if you didn’t enjoy playing in the first place, you simply wouldn’t do it.
How about sports; those are still games. You go out and play a game of basketball with some buddies. What loot do you get from that? Nothing. Zero, zilch, nada. No shinies. Just the enjoyment of hanging out and competing with your buds.
Games are about enjoyment, not greed. Sadly MMOs have taught us to be greedy, to expect the shinies, rather than to play the game for enjoyment.

Couldn’t have said it any better. A Game can’t be a replacement for your job, where you get your rewards for doing good. Go get a job and you have your rewards. I want a game to have fun and chill out, not a second job.
I play one BG, I afk for two others BG
I can’t wait for the AFK and leaver penalties to be enforced.
Couldn’t have said it any better. A Game can’t be a replacement for your job, where you get your rewards for doing good. Go get a job and you have your rewards. I want a game to have fun and chill out, not a second job.
Same here…. I work 40+ hours a week not including the commute either way, have a family, a social life, and a home to take care of (you know….laundry, dishes, cleaning. them lovely domestic chores). I ‘work’ enough during the week, I don’t want to feel like I’m doing ‘one more job’ or ‘one more chore’ when I’m on the game.
Sure, the rewards are nice when I’m killing things, but that’s not why I’m doing it in the first place. I’m killing the things to get to a goal, I’m doing it because it’s a great way to release some pent up frustration (oh look, that one looks like my boss!), I’m not doing it because it has .0000000001% chance of dropping ‘x’.
If I wanted to do that crap, I’d march my sorry butt back to WoW and brainlessly run raids, where some other power crazed lunatic dictates that you must complete ‘x’ by ‘y’ deadline. Only, they don’t pay me! shudder Even I’m not that masochistic.
I play one BG, I afk for two others BG
I can’t wait for the AFK and leaver penalties to be enforced.
I can’t eat my cheese during the game ? Arf !!!
And for all than said " HE AFK !!!! KILLING HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIM ". I’m sorry but I dont afk during tournament, just in normal BG. And if ur not happy, its the same price.

That’s what I feel a lot of people who demand more job-like qualities in games are trying to achieve- feeling employed while being unemployed. Which seems a waste to me, since the same drive applied towards something like software development could earn them quite a few dollars lol.
Sorry, OP but I wish you’d play a lot less.
People who AFK to get achievements or dailies are a blight on the community and I wish they’d all go away. All you’ve done here is show me exactly the type of person who doesn’t like this game.
Good.
So you don’t like the game yet you still log on every day and play. Who’s holding the gun to your head?
All you’ve done here is show me exactly the type of person who doesn’t like this game.
… I… What is this I don’t even… what?
You’re saying that anyone who doesn’t like GW2 is the type of person who would afk for achievements and otherwise be a kitten to their group?
Out of the 100,000,000+ PC gamers in the world, only the 1.5-2 mil or so playing this game aren’t total jerks?
Me thinks that sentence didn’t come out how you intended it =D

What I’m saying is that if the OP is going to be that kind of person, I don’t care that he doesn’t like the game. Clearly there are some fine and intelligent people who don’t like this game. I know some of them.
But the OP himself has stated he doesn’t like the game, and he does like to cheat. So what I’m saying is I’m glad he doesn’t like the game and I’d be happy to recommend some other game to him if it helps.
Yeah it’s 3 am, it didn’t come out quite right. lol
Why do you even play if you don’t enjoy it? Just leave for some time and come back later if you want. Right now, the only thing you are doing is getting in the way of people who do enjoy the game.
I wouldn’t take this post too seriously, folks. This line pretty much betrays the true intention of the post-
With 45 min of game per day, I have the same stuff, the same skin, the same advantage than a player who play 8 hours per day.
Translated: “QQ casuals get the same rewards as hardcores. I’ll pretend to be the most kitten casual you have ever seen and make the most ridiculously innaccurate claim I get (mostly to rile up players looking for a reason to be angry, regardless of the accuracy of my claims) to get the point across that this should be changed!”.
We see casuals do it all the time to hardcores, I suppose it’s only fair that the other way around happens as well.

See, I usually see more complaints from the no-lifers than I do from the people who have lives. The no lifers whine and moan that people that have crap to do shouldn’t be on equal footing with them. However, GW has always been skill > time.
Even as badly balanced as many griped GW1 was, it was still Skill > Time spent. We have called for the same in GW2, and for the most part the devs have stuck to this. We knew the game was going to be Skill > Time before it launched. So there’s no excuse for those people to not have expected that ‘casuals’ would be on equal terms with the ‘hardcores’
Disclaimer: While none of the terms used are intended to be taken personally, I know some of you probably will. So I’ll just go ahead and get this out of the way – if you play a game for 8+ hours day, lets face it…. even your friends would say you have no life. XD

Who said I have friends?
