I play PvE and I am bored

I very well understand your boredom, but harder dungeons seem to be low on their priority list. Not surprising when half of the population finds new AC too hard.
As for dull bosses, HP sponges and whatnot, they are working on it but didn’t change much apart from an encounter in CoF p2 and new AC for some reason

Fun is subjective. What you describe as fun does not sound like fun at all to me. Your fun seems to be centered around dungeons that need better mechanics on the boss fights. Do you find any other aspect of the game fun or just dungeon boss fights?

I might be in the same boat as you. I don’t love dungeons in any game, and I don’t love boss fights in particular.
I just don’t get it.
I agree with you op.
The current state of PvE is very lackluster to say the least with very little difficulty in anything that is in the game currently. The reward system could really be thought out more besides weapon skins, ect. Can we perhaps see a system in the future besides the whole idea of dress up and dancing around the mystic forge?
I’m sorry but there needs to be more ideas with items if you don’t want loot progression. At this point I’d prefer the idea of a system of loot progression because it is very stagnant right now.
I think what the op is saying is that he wants new scalable content that is permanent.
I have to agree once you have 100% world completion, Dungeon master title, and done 40+ fractals there is not much left to do as far as PvE goes. Sure we get some trivial mind numbing updates that make us go here or there but it never really takes that long to finish.
If its been said once its been said a million times have an option to increase the difficulty of some content as well as increasing the reward for playing the more difficult content.

Well play WvW then…

I am not sure if you read the post.

OP: I agree with most of what you said…outside of fractals that is.
-The dungeons are bland. Groups skip the harder paths, and go for quick and easy. This won’t change.
-The boss mechanics are: Lots of bad floor, one shot badfloor, or tank and spank(even though there are no tanks).
-Most of the content is easy… too easy. I agree the one great dungeon everyone loved was temporary. I’ll never understand why this wasnt just left in the game.
-I like having fun intrinsicly, but being rewarded is fulfilling too.
-Open world encounters are too one dimensional and have to be due to the sheer number of people participating.
Overall, it is a very easy, grindy game. However, a very eye-pleasing game. There isnt an MMO to date that has the breath taking views and scenery that GW2 has.

And I, in turn, agree with most of what you wrote.
The games looks really good, no doubt about it, but it’s a big “waste” when you can just rush through it. I can’t understand why they are so afraid of making the game harder.
WoW started this easy-piecy-trend so it’s their fault. But seriously, it is… If you are running around out in the wild-life/woods/around a enemy fortress, you should at least be a little on edge, but you are never on edge in GW2 because you can just mash random keybuttons and still beat the kitten out of most mobs.
I don’t even know the name of most of my skills because I just randomly press buttons without thinking of what I am doing.
I actually have a suggestion, but may be too lazy to make a post about it in the Suggestions forums..since hardly ever I see a dev hop in there.
I think most people will agree, leveling in this game was great. I see lots of people wishing the story would reset, or continue…things like that.
Suggestion:
When you hit 80, you have the option of leveling up another set of levels. For arguments sake, call them “paragon” levels or something like that. Your map completion resets (achievements do not reset). All hearts, poi’s, waypoints..everything is undiscovered as if you were and now are a level 1. All traits are reset and you have no trait points to spend just yet. Go through the entire game all over again, choose a different faction(priory, vigil, whatever the third is(my brain is fried))…experience everything all over again. For every 10 levels you gain…XYZ rewards, or something like that…some reward unique to “re-leveling”, but for heaven’s sake, make it worth while. No one wants a jug of karma and a coin. T6 mats would be FANTASTIC!!! Reduce the grind if people would rather re-level and experience everything all over again. T6 mats..yes!
Anyways, you get the gist…the specifics could be worked out. Basically, you are reset to level 1(carry over your gear and skill points that were spent). The map is reset. The traits are set. For each level or X amount of levels you are rewarded T6 mats and/or chance at precursor, like always.
I would redo this in a heartbeat. Arenanet would make my dreams come true if they gave me a reason and the ability to relevel. And the extrinsic incentive would be the T6 rewards and precursor chance. I would totally be back on board with arenanet if they did this.
Edit: For giggles, Ill post this in the suggestions forum too. See if anyone bites.
By the way OP, I think it’s like 20 threads like this one already. :P
I actually have a suggestion…[a lot of text]
Hey, not a bad idea at all! Maybe you can have the re-level-setting come with a harder difficulty aswell. Like you can take less damage, skills takes longer to recharge etc?
The game is for casuals, learn it and move to other game (there’s a fine one coming 2013/2014).

Sure, definately possibly throw in some…buff or debuff.
However, in order for this to be at all desirable, they still need to fix the downscaling. I can blow a part a lvl 7 reef drake in three hits with my short bow. I know, the stats I get(precision, etc) are not downleveled or as much, but they should be. It should take me nearly as long to kill a lvl 10, when I am downlevled to 10, as it would when I was leveling up. That makes the experience worthwhile to me

I know you’re not talking about TESO. I really don’t think people will take to the game after playing it for a month. They liked it in a single player aspect. Put it in an MMO..I don’t think itll work.

I do not consider myself as an elite player. Like I wrote, I barely know the name of my skills. The PvE-part is too easy no matter if you are “casual” or “elite”.
Many people will leave when GTA V is up. Because they don’t have any plans for an expension for this year. I’m bored of PVE too. After getting all points of interest, vistas, doing maybe almoust all events, dungeons. I strongly believe that the game needs more content,an expansion. New max lvl and many more. Because we do same things every day, dailys for laurels and karma and the world bosses. I deleted my first warrior because was soo bored of same content, now planning to delete my second one…. we still paid some money for this game, there should be more content coming, not only carnivals and bugged new pvp matches(dragon ball)
And the truth is that is Arena Net’s interest to keep their players. All game companies want as many players as possible, because that means more money. Is not enough for a company that the players buy your game and after 10 months leave for good. The black lion trading company needs people to buy these items…but who will buy them if there were only small changes ? Minis, hats, dyes….you guys make many of those every week but nothing really important and major for the game. That’s profit on short-run but on the long run(meaning over a year from now) will be a big loss. Just wanting to say how the things are…bring more personal story, events on all maps or new ones, new max lvl and bring an expansion….just a few good things that could happen, for the happiness of everybody.
I’m not talking about TESO, it’s WS. You can rage now. :P
Haha. I don’t see that one doing particularly well either. Another under the rader game..like Defiance, planetside..even though those games have a core group of followers.
Better end this discussion now, posts will be deleted, accounts infracted.
Back to the topic: I’ve made a post in the suggestions forums about making a better “endgame experience”

Economics 101: The #1 priority for any company worth their spit is stockholders. Regardless of the method of how you do it, keep them happy. Thats it. Thats if you are a public company.
Dont even know if Arenanet is.
Satisfying stockholders can only be done if they receive satisfying income, which only comes from a satisfyingly milkable player-base-cash-cow , which promotes catering to mass casuals. However these people are mainly in for the achievements, the skins and the legendaries. Once they will have either made a legendary or lost hope on making one (farm nerfs), they will find that the little content left is redundant and they will move to another game. Only the players who understand how unique this game is – the above average players – will remain in the long term, but they need content. Therefore to satisfy shareholders it is a valid strategy to cater to above average players! Or at least I am hoping so…

There are so many great games coming out this year…why to waste time on 80 for over a year from now? Is sad they we paid the 60 bucks. No way I will buy an expansion this time next year…or even later….
