I should be given the achievement: “Skritt”

I play for shinies, plain and simple. I do like the lore involved in events and such, but if it lacks rewards or does not help me on my way up to shinies, I will most likely than not leave it to the side and do it when I can, if at all.

I do the AP for the shiny shoulder pad (58xx AP atm) , once I get it, Im done with the AP rewards.

I did all these LS for the shinies and rewards, I didnt do Brahn nor the Charr bow lady since I didnt see any shinies worth going for. I did the southsun only for the backpack, once I got it I stopped.

I should be ashamed that I only play for rewards when this game has so many beautiful things, but sadly I dont, my train of thoughts are simple; if it does not help me get to Sunrise, or has shiny rewards (or is as challenging as Liadri, which 70% of the reason I did it over 150 times and spent 40 gold was for the awesome mini, otherwise wouldnt have done it) I wont do it, unless I got nothing else to do (and that will only happen after Sunrise and Bifrost)

I also know many people have a hard time admitting this, but in a game where cosmetics is all, sometimes lore isnt enough for those who have a hard time finding people to RP with.

I want to play, with a view to becoming one of the most powerful player characters in Tyria, and look great while doing that.

Pity it’s not possible; Max Level = 80, and “‘Skill’ Points” after level 80 add zero vertical progression (which is ridiculous).

Me too. Nothing beats watching tiny little 140s and 100s flood my screen; when I see the big fancy purple confusion numbers, I get extra excited. I guess condition builds really bring out my inner sadist.

just listen to how arrogant you sound, its not about showing off, its about competition, i love getting cool things that were hard to get, it inspires my friends to beat me in both shinies and skill.
honestly yeah i love shinies, just got my dusk yesterday and all i have left is explore, and its inspired a few of my guild members to start going for a legendary again, theyre a noterierty item and i think they’re great (my opinion)

Because I like exploring the world and playing through the stories (Personal Story, dungeons, Living Story etc.) same as any RPG really, except I get to do it with lots of other people around.

I play because I enjoy it…

Because I find beating the kitten out of something (or someone) a great way to release pent up frustration…

Because sometimes I crave the social aspect….. although this tends to bite me in the kitten since a lot of people are just….. grrrrr…

Because I enjoy exploring the beautiful environment, which, unlike the real world, hasn’t been spoiled and defiled to the point that it is toxic…

Because I like finding some of the hidden ‘surprises’ the Anet took the time to include, even when they really didn’t have to, but did….

I’m not very loot oriented. For me to do something I don’t enjoy, the loot has to be really really good. For example, for me, the pavilion is terrible. It’s boring.

I tried it for an hour or so, I got a charged lodestone (ooh $1 worth of gold), 2 rares 50 cents), and a bunch of T5-T6 crafting materials. All you do is go near the legendary whomeveritis and press 1 for 10-15 minutes — it’s not worth it.

So I mostly play because I’m having fun or out of habit. During this month it will be more out of habit (as the pavilion sucks all the people out of all the other areas of the game).
