I suggest Anet turning down the servers
it only graphical glitches. It may show one thing, but its all really there
we’ll, as for traits it’s semi-working.
meaning, the traits I had on my character before update is still there and accessible. But when I try to change to another trait line, it says it’s not yet trained.
So I can’t change up my build.
There’s apparently problems with PvP reward tracks being reset, as well as collections and the lists of cleared dungeons. Maybe more. I’m not logging in until I hear official word that they’ve fixed this, just in case.
delicate, brick-like subtlety.
.. and doing a rollback now that’s not too late…
Vissarion, you beat me to it!
Anet, in all seriousness, like Vissarion said…
1) SHUT THE SERVERS DOWN ASAP!
2) ROLL EVERYTHING BACK to PRE-PATCH
and then…
3) Do some REAL QA - take weeks if you have to – on this patch. (Put HoT down… work on this patch instead.)
4) Try it again only after you’re 500% more confident that it’s NOT going to be another atomic bomb drop.
5) Be prepared to Roll it back, again if necessary. (If it’s again “FAIL”… rinse and repeat – see step #1.)
Every hour that you leave this patch up… it gets exponentially worse. (I’m not even going to to log-in with the game like this.)
You don’t even want to look at the Bugs Forum.
Anet released waaaaay more broken patches in the past and I don’t think they have ever rolled anything back.
another example of why we need a Test Server so we can break the game there..not here!
my girlfriend left me because update
all is vain
Bloin – Running around, tagging Keeps, getting whack on Scoobie Snacks.

What about the Trader reset of 05 when Superior Absorption went from 80 plat to under 10 plat..then back to 80 plat in the same day?
Got me a new set of FoW armor i did

You are so right, this whole none QA thing is getting old. I cant even imagine how Anet missed many of these bugs when they are seen within seconds after logging in.
I like how everyone automatically assumes they do no QA, or very little QA work on their patches.
People, kitten happens. Environments are not always 100% the same (even when they are supposed to be). The project I just came off of had 4 environments, including prod (dev, test, prod like (supposed to be an exact duplicate of prod down to the data), and prod). There were several releases where everything tested perfectly in test and prod like, then hit prod and went to kitten. And our QA’s had 100s of test scenarios, including regression. Gotta love development….

I’m in software development myself, so I gotta say this. Your team is pretty kitten
Why? I haven’t noticed any problems outside of the small graphical glitch telling us to train. I still have all of my skills/traits. Stop whining.
Everything is running fine on The Test Server.

LOL-maybe you ought to read the bugs area and the fact Anet has acknowledged the various problems being reported.

I suspect you are trolling or just living up to your name.

Lol, then I guess every team and every company I’ve worked for must be kitten, because this aint the first time I’ve seen these issues in the 8 or so years that I’ve been doing development.
Granted it probably wouldn’t have been anywhere near as bad if we had control over the servers, the tech being used or any real decisions in general, but we’re just contracted out. XD

No, you’re all making a big deal out of a non-issue. Sure its annoying that it keeps telling me to train my skills/traits but its just a graphical thing. It will go away eventually when they fix it and until then it doesn’t affect my gameplay at all. I have noticed zero game play issues since patch. Anet may be acknowledging issues but none of those issues are rollback worthy nor do they warrant the crybaby reaction that is going on.

Try playing Living Story Season 2, then we can talk again.
Well the “Fixed Server Crash” seems to of fixed some of the more noticeable stuff that the “server crash” caused

They’ve used the live environment for large scale testing just recently….. so…. we’re kind of past the point where QA draws a line on things. But considering the game is shard based, why hasn’t the system been updated to use the Production’s instance manager to spawn test shards under the new code base for QA passes? The game has already proven it can do this in parallel (just look at any patch day).
And if they already are…. how did something with such a wide breadth of UI problems get past QA?
The frustration by the players are not unfounded, as it does LOOK like its breaking character data, even if its not actually doing it.

With you, 20th year in SD now. There’s some small companies/groups out there that also have deployment issues, say people like Microsoft, Oracle, US Government (and more). So I think I will give ANet a bit of slack for now. Not to mention people fail to realize they are doing this while we are up and running. They are not dropping the servers during this time so that’s extra complication. Also played other games and these updates run smooth compared to those where the server would be down for a day as they deployed and then had to fix bugs offline. But each to their own…Good hunting!

K, just did one of the episodes. What is the issue?
We are in Gw3 alpha test server didnt you guys notice??? >:P
Considering they don’t need to take the servers down to update the game and nothing was actually lost since the bug was entirely graphical taking them down and performing a roll-back would be a massive over-reaction.
As shown by the fact that they fixed it several hours ago with a quick patch.

I lost 2 levels that I just completed.
