Hi guys!

Because there is an Ex Pack on the horizon , i thought " Lets make some money for it"

Everybody is talking about the Afk Farms ( Doric turret farm and Bittefrost Nec Farm) but nobody could really tell me how much g/h you make there.

So i gave it a try and this are the results. (see pic below)
I also took a pic from a normal silverwaste run to compare.

Note: I did not kill anything myself at the Doric Farm. Only Turret kills.

If you could have salvaged and sold everything it would have been a better image. Just looking I can’t tell anything about value except you seemed to get slightly more rare equipment in silverwastes.

I was AFK at the TP for one hour. Result: 40 gold.
Seems to be the better job

Under guides for actual numbers. It seems your bag ratio was very low, perhaps you were on an overpopulated map

Basically, his picture shows that the AFK turret farmers are making as much money as people actively doing events in the Silverwastes. The higher the magic find, the better the money, which is why I see so many 186’s next to the AFK farmers names.

Zero effort equals one of the best money makers in the game…yep.

Being present at your computer and letting turrets kill things for you isn’t really cheating, though, even if you are only paying attention half the time. As long as they’re checking back in periodically, aren’t using third party programs to refresh turrets for them, or stuff like that, that is. And I don’t think there are many (if any) events that the turret farmers are scaling up in that location, but I haven’t been to that map in a good two months, so I may be remembering incorrectly.

Players: “Leather prices are too low!”
Anet: “We’ve dramatically increased the need for leather in everything.”

If we want to get technical, people were farming the leather farm, now they’re not. A leather farm goes up to the High Sage. This is a bag farm. Not to mention that it makes defending any of the three areas pretty hard, it’s been a long time since I’ve seen a defense succeed even on a full map. Guess it’ll only be a matter of time until we see Jennah assassinated and White Mantle ruling Kryta.

True. Im not really into Afk farming but i was thinking about what to farm.

Level 40 Fractels is nice and all but group disband so fast and you need to concentrat all the time. After a long workday , thats not really what i want.

Silverwaste is not that popular anymore , you rarely have more than 2-3 lfg open and one of them is mostly chestfarm which i dont like.

Anet killed Multiloot and dungeons.

We have alot of “Daily” stuff but yeah…

Orr Trains are ok if you get lucky to hit something before is dies.

We dont really have a good “aktiv” farm in the game anymore or do i forgetting something?

I miss the old Silverwaste days

Thought with all the talk I would take the engie from the jump puzzle chest I camp to try it out for the first time. Basically, there are 2 groups of people out here farming: the non-afk players and the macro users (who are AFK).

There is no way to just place turrets, go to the store, mow your lawn, make dinner and come back to tons of loot unless you are botting (or using macros). Turrets last 3 minutes (or less if destroyed-which is very often) then need to be replaced. This isn’t nearly as bad as the people who AFK with their pet class for weeks at a time collecting loot.

In order to really get anything, you have to be playing your character (and have high magic find-I ran with 386%). I placed turrets where everyone has them and put the mortar on so I could just spam the 1500 range skills. In 3 hours I got a bunch of random crap that everything all over Tyria drops and 250 heavy supply bags (which I haven’t opened yet).. Mostly, a bunch of us chatted while tagging mobs and I watched a movie on the second monitor (but I always have a movie going even when leveling characters or doing map completion).

AB multiloot was a much better moneymaking venture. Still, not a bad way to chill/chat with other players/make some loot.

I know of 2 guilds that run Silverwastes farm pretty much every day. I’m sure there are more guilds farming SW at other times of the day.
