The game is amazing! So amazing that I obsess and think about it everyday. If I’m at work, I have the official forums, reddit guildwars 2, gw2guru, mmorpg.com, massively.com, tabbed and hidden, looking for new tidbits and whatnot.

I think the monthly updates are mostly to blame. My MMO experience is quite limited. I had played Ragnarok, Dream of Mirror Online, WoW, EvE and SWToR. The communication and the new info that GW2 provides is just too much.

I think I’m more of an info-locust rather than a game-locust. Once I log-in the game, I enjoy leveling up, WvWing and just having fun. Once I’m out of the game, I think about plausible builds, read up on other people’s builds, search for new info on incoming updates, read about WvW match-up dramas, etc.

And just now, they released info on Guild Missions… Argh! GW2 overload!!!

Anyone in the same boat as me? Or should I chastise myself from anything Guildwars 2 until I get home.

Its a great game. They did it right this time imo, and are managing to keep it on track with a consistent vision. I do the same thing btw, at work right now :p

Breaks are fine, I was on holidays for over a week and came back and still enjoy it the same.

i’m the same, it is unhealthy – maybe limit yourself to x hours per day for everything play + forums etc, i know that’s what i should do. It’s just an issue of willpower XD

I think you may need a break too.
- If you can’t focus on your work when there and savor getting updated till later, you might want to consider taking a breather.
It’s not healthy when a game takes control of ones life like that.
There’s a difference between enjoying a game and being obsessed by it. Know when it’s time to game and time to live.

Agree. I’m getting back in reading more books. My playtime is healthy though compared to the WoW days. But it’s the off-time that’s unhealthy: mining for info, any info, on this month’s update; eagerly waiting for the patch notes like it’s the next Bible.
