Go play something else and come back when there’s more content. It’s not an unreasonable thing to suggest.

That might work if the new content wasn’t, ya know, temporary.

Umm, why? You mean you can’t follow the game and come back and play temporary content?

You can’t come back and play content that’s no longer available due to being, ya know, temporary.

Oh, sure, you could come back and catch the current temporary content of the month/quarter/whatever but that’s all too soon over and you’re left with that old dilemma of having nothing new left to do. On the other hand, you could come back and play permanent content that’s accumulated since you left and have lots of stuff to catch up on.

Which would you prefer?

you can come back for short periods of time every month to play the temporary content and then leave to wait for the next month.
In my opinion they will add permanent content. They will probably re-add the other continents, open up new zones, new mini games. However the focus of this game to seem like it’s always moving and changing. Hence the temporary content.
You know what I find funny? In WoW forums (a game with almost only staying content) people are complaining that there’s not enough of temporary content. You come to guild Wars 2 forums and the complains are the complete opposite.

I understand this one. When I first heard about legendary’s I thought it would be something to shoot for, long term. Then I realized they were only skins, and had no stat benefit over exotics. To which I thought…wtf?

When I see the amount of effort necessary to create one I cannot help but laugh. There is no way I would ever bother with that much work in a game for nothing more than a skin…it’s absurd. I have never really cared how my gear looked, only the stats is carries.

Most of GW2 is strictly skins. The developers didn’t want to introduce vertical gear progression knowing the problems that it causes.

Yeah you makes some good points but I do think your being overly critical. These threads sometimes get so weighted down with long and complex discussions about what the game does and doesn’t do. For me it’s really simple, if I’m having fun I stay, as soon as I feel like I’m waisting my time I shut it down and move on.

I just feel like I’m getting tired of moving on every six months, Lotro, Aion, WAR, Swor and many visits back to WoW. I’d just love to be in a MMO that lasts longer than six months and has a team at the helm to really want to make a top rate game as opposed to a one hit wonder.

I personally feel like this is the first MMO that has stood a good chance of that and in spite of it’s weaker areas we still have some huge potential here. It’s clear the games engine is way ahead of anything else so the sky really is the limit. The strongest thing this game has going for it is that it’s free to play and so while we will most certainly get low population in launches of other MMO’s (TESO or Blade & Soul for example) I do think people will come back again and again.

I have to say while I never played the original GW the elite skill system does sound awesome, I wonder why they didn’t carry it over?

I made a long and detailed post responding to the OP’s post. Why don’t you get over yourself and respond to that—if you’re truly interested in non-personal issues.

I don’t care if you don’t like what I post. In fact, I’m quite happy that’s the case, because it means I’ve scored points. If I never scored points, you wouldn’t care at all. What bothers you is that I’m often correct in what I’m saying, so you can’t remain negative without a counterpoint. Sorry if that inconveniences you.

I’m not even sure what that means other than “I’m better than you; you should feel bad.” At least you stick to your guns long after you’ve run out of bullets.
