I see a ranger in WvW. They’re so deadly and their pets are so vicious that they can destroy me with their pets alone. They do huge amounts of damage when they hit me with their spitballs… erm I meant arrows. They are absolute kings of CC. And I understand that they’re meant to be “Rangers” and masters of ranged combat, but do they really need the ability to use guns and rifles?

This is the only game I’ve played where the archer class is so powerful. Why are they so OP in this game?

Seriously, just open the ranger or profession balance subforum and you will soon notice that rangers are far (and I mean really far) from beeing OP in PvE or WvW.

because all the devs play is WvW rangers

anet really needs to quit buffing them and give some love to those poor ol’ underdog warriors that’ve been left in buggy mediocrity since launch

Nice troll! You were right on the CC. They’ve got a knockback to die for. They can move a target around a battlefield in such a way that no other player can touch it. Totally OP!

Also, as I’m sure it has been brought up many, many times before…“ranger” does not equal “ranged combat.” Look it up. The word has many definitions, but “ranged combat” and “ranged weapons” have nothing to do with it.

Something else that’s been brought up many, many times before comes directly from the official website:

Whatever “ranger” means in the real world, it’s clear ArenaNet is advertising them as ranged combat specialists.

Poor warriors can’t even stealth ( you think they would for how squishy they are) Their downed state is pretty OP though, they’re so hard to finish.

I’m aware of this, stopped leveling my Ranger because they’re so weak it’s beyond a joke. Which is why I’m making a joke out of it.. (and switched to warrior).

Superior Rune of Infiltration works just fine on Warriors.

Back before they nerfed pet damage, I actually had my pet solo people, it was pretty funny. RaO + quickening zephyr + 100% crits from stealth + regen BM build, good times.
