It never actually occured to me that there are no penguins in this game, but now that you point it out I cannot get over it.

Aren’t Quaggans supposed to fill the role of penguin-like creature?

I’d suggest they could be an amphibious pet but I think they’d be useless on land. In the water they could be amazing though.

In real life penguins are only found at the south pole. Maybe it’s the same in Tyria and we’ve never gotten far enough south to discover them? Yet…

Yes I mentioned the low number of amphibious pets in my original post

maybe when far shiverpeaks opens up hehe ^^ or perhaps it could be an exotic pet for Cantha if we ever end up going back there

either way I just made this because I really want more Ranger pets and Penguins are just awesome creatures that would bring me pure joy to have accompany me around Tyria

No harm in having a young Whale pet which can act as a tank :P

While penguins are pretty awesome and I would never, ever be against the addition of penguins, the aquatic pet I would really love to see is a rayfish (manta ray, stingray, eagle ray) not the manta ray in the game, which looks nothing at all like the real life animal which is amaizing. Would be the perfect compliment to my shark, instead of the silly jellies or ugly armorfish.
As for an acceptable choice or already ingame creatures I could agree to the deepsea scorpions, they are pretty cool.

Anyways… penguins would be acceptable too.

I want all of those. I would probably have a penguin as my main aquatic pet, and a manta ray as my secondary one.

I was freaked out when they followed me out of the water the other day when I accidentally damage a few. Who would imagine they could walk on land?

Now that we’re going north with new icy biome entertainment I wonder if it’s finally time for Penguins.

Penguins are Southern Hemisphere, and we’re heading north. So, maybe not.

I don’t play my Ranger often, but I wouldn’t say “no” to a penguin mini-pet for Wintersday. Must have scarf and Santa hat.

(If cats in this game follow you underwater, but dogs are considered to be strictly “terrestrial” – unable to even dog-paddle – then does that mean a penguin would be able to fly?)
