The point of the AI assistant (i.e. a squire) could be to basically automate bag opening/selling/salvaging which is highly time consuming.

This service wouldn’t have to be free or instant… but more exist as a quality of life option for people that do the meta PVE, and have to do LOADS of inventory processing on their own.

It would work by allowing you to set the commands and parameters.

For example you could tell them to sell: all blue, or salvage: all green and yellow, open bags, etc.

You could also instruct them to use your money to buy something like a salvage kit, if you wanted to.

Basically, the squire should be able to cater to most of the little needs of high end players, that are not well catered to.

For cost I would say 1 gold for 24 hours for their service. High end players could all afford this, but it’s not “cheap” either.

It could for sure have a timer or something too, like 3 seconds to process an item… it’s not about speed, it’s about not having to do it.

Anyway that’s my idea to fix a major gripe. I doubt it happens, but just throwing it out there.

1 gold for 24 hours is more than cheap. for something like this I’d expect it to have a gem cost, or a much much much higher gold cost

edit to add: 1 gold is half the 10 minute daily, which is nothing compared to the amount of gold I’m sure ‘high end’ players are raking in.

This is true, but at 1g/24 hours, people would actually use it, like the game more, and have a better time, whilst this service would still take a significant amount of money out of the economy. I mean, 1g is more than my daily teleporting usually costs, for example, even playing all day, and I know Anet consider that cost to be a significant and valuable gold sink.

Put it much higher, and people just won’t use it, but WILL be angry because they’re having to open all their bags etc. by hand because they’re not super-rich. So that’d be a net loss for GW2.

I would just like a button to autosell all my minor sigils and runes. Push button, all minor SigilsNRunes leave my inventory and get 16 copper each. I can do the salvage all easily enough myself.

i came to the forum searching to see if anyone has suggested OPEN ALL on bag and box stacks the same way we can ‘salvage all’. i think this would help.

Nope… I’m just under the assumption that people who write complaint’s like this just don’t know about the game’s basic functions…
Thinking that it cannot be laziness, is a simple logical conclusion: If he were that lazy, he would be too lazy to bother writing on the forum too… That would be far too much work in comparison xD

It isn’t that much time in the grand scheme of things, but it’s the kind of inconvenience that we feel like we shouldn’t have to deal with.

It’s probably just the differing frames of reference, man. Most of modern life is completely streamlined and user friendly. It makes little things like this seem jarring in contrast.

I mean, the game is literally giving you garbage like ‘Here, you throw this away.’

Wouldn’t that make permanent bank, permanent TP etc useless?

Iirc, players in Torchlight had a pet or follower or something that could be sent off to town to sell stuff. It was kind of cool.

Would be funny if we could hire skritt to gather our home instance.

That certainly helps if you want to salvage. What if you want to sell to merchant? Or open 100 bags. And what if you don’t have any storage left for mats. There’s many things people might want to do with their loot, and you’ve boiled down to one circumstance where it works out.

AI to keep my home instance empty every day. Yes please!
