Compared to the hard core players that you see with full ascended, a legendary backpack, and a whole backpack full of legendary weapons, I have limited time and game knowledge. Really committing to making a legendary weapon has never really been all that feasible even though ive been slowly gathering the pieces. About two years ago at this point I crafted volcanus, the greatsword that looks the same as the ele firey gs skill, and I have always looked back on that experience as one of the most enjoyable times ive had when playing gw2.
Working towards a unique semi-prestigious weapon with a cool model and effects that make it noticeable and stand out is extremely fun, but there don’t seem to be too many of these opportunities and very few of them are located in between the easy ones and the huge feats that legendary weapons are. Volcanus seemed to be a good medium between the two that had a good and worth while reward at the end of the track, and the process of making it required enough of you for it to feel rewarding to have done it.
In short, I think there should be more weapons, armor, and back pieces that look cool enough and are exciting enough to be a proper reward worth perusing, and requires a significant amount of effort and commitment but not nearly as much as creating a legendary weapon does. What do you think? Also what do you look back on as your favorite parts of playing gw2?

What I never understood was why there aren’t full sets to these skins, why is there no Azureflame dagger design or why can’t I have a greatsword with Infinite Light design.
Then there are amazing skins/auras in game that aren’t even purchasable or useable outside of Hearts… Refer to pic, sorry for bad graphics.

Infinite light is a tribute to the runic blade from GW1. Also, Mjolnir was at one point about as expensive to craft as a legendary.
Those armadillos would be a lot cooler if they looked more like real armadillos. mmm armadillos

Seeing how most of those unique skins are based on models represented by certain classes, you have all of the Phantasm weapons from Mesmer, you have the Spirit weapons from Guardian, and the elemental Weapons from Elementalist, that’s why there is no Azureflame Dagger since Guardian doesn’t have a spirit Dagger. And so on.
What semi prestigious?
It’s cool,but not the real thing.
Volcanus is the Elementalist’s conjured GS.
You get that with no crafting at all,with the most bad kitten GS skills in the game.

Guard didn’t have a bow for the first 3-4 years though? Otherwise I would say that makes sense..
My personal favorite to craft was the Mad Moon. I took over a year and two Halloween events to finish because of play time constraints. I think the time I put into it is the reason why I still like it so much.

I would rather slink into depression. I have the same armor set from 2-3 years ago. I have the same backpiece skin I’ve had for the same amt of time. Of the skins I have unlocked 90% of them are ones I wish I could sell back or have never gotten in 1st place. I have volcanus skin but wish I hadn’t got it, similar thing with the shiny backpiece. I have 4 legendary skins I haven’t used in months sometimes years and would trash all of them if I could.
One word to describe:
Most of old legendaries? Garish.
Most of new legendaries? Mistake.
New legendary backpiece? Yawn.
The outfits I currently use: Nada.
Armor sets (not cultural) that look good on charr? Non-existent.
Current outfits that work well for charr? Scary.
Upcoming legendary armor? …
Legendaries I currently use (skins)? Aite.
Gen2 Mace Legendary? * salivate*
