I like being able to have my costume in battle. +1
I just cannot stand not being able to mix up my costume pieces; the fact that my bunny ears, devil horns, Wintersday earmuffs and witch hat have all been turned into armor skins; And that I can’t individually color the combined pieces of my costumes.

I don’t even want to wear any of my costumes(town clothes)since this happened.

Why did these things go away when the costumes were changed? Can they not let me have individual pieces and allow me to wear it to battle still?

Please put the ability to wear costume pieces separately and be colored individually back into the game.

Agreed. I paid for individual pieces, so I could mix-and-match. I’ve lost pieces like the earmuffs entirely.

The term “mix and match” is giving me cancer.

Guys… due to the way armors are modeled they could not make the other town clothes armor and they did not feel like leaving them the way they were was progress. I think it’s time you all accept that there is literally nothing you can do at this point. Move on.

I believ the earmuffs are now part of the Winter Outfit, which you should have unlocked (and received in your inventory) if you talked to a Black Lion Armor Specialist with a character wearing the earmuffs.

That is what the forums are for. If i actually take my time to come here to post this, my hope is that people see it and think “that would be nice to have.” This is something that I want in the game and I cannot just “Move on”.
I had it before, now that it is gone I want it back. My opinion of this ever going to change.

Earmuffs were a separate sale all together in 2012. If those turned into another winters day outfit i would be even more upset than if they turn into a skin.

Problem is, dozens of people have already done that. They have been swiftly ignored and pushed away. It is apparent that no matter how much crying or whining or begging happens they aren’t going to do anything, at least not for a really long time.

And… well. If you can’t move on that sucks. Unfortunately what anet wanted and what you wanted are different things. One person there has zero power over the game decisions and one has all the power. They decided. It’s done.

From the other lengthy threads on this topic it appeared that the reason the devs did not change the individual townclothes was because of needing to remake them. People complained and they changed the flamekissed light armor. Keep the rally cry going and it is always possible they will implement a better version of townclothes later.

That said it’s probably helpful to post in the townclothes thread instead of making a new one. It can be found here.

I’m not sure flame kissed is a good example. Because it only took them 24 hours to make the decision to pull the armor. It’s been over a month, almost 2 since it was announced.

True, but it was the best example I can think of at the moment, especially since both involve the redesign of a piece of armor (granted town clothes is a 4th weight). But I’m not sure I’d take the ‘ignored’ as specific to townclothes. The devs were silent on a lot of things shortly after the april patch and from the few posts that showed up in the last (two?) weeks I’m guessing it is because of China. I’m still holding out hope anyway.

There are a lot of problems in the game that people have been voicing opinions on. All of these opinions – even if I do not agree with them – are valid. I’m going to go out on a limb and say that it isn’t that the devs can’t fix or do a better job implementing town clothes, it’s that it isn’t top of the priority list. Hopefully if players continue to let them know that it is still something part of the community values then it will remain somewhere on that list and not get scratched altogether. Which is why I am suggesting that Meow post in the original thread (plus then that will bump the thread).

That said forum communities tend to be divisive. Rather than split the player base over party lines let’s combat that, shall we?

I just see no point to this argument when there have been several developer comments saying “We could not please everyone, this is what we decided on to move the town clothes and outfits forward, we’re sorry you don’t like it, here’s a refund for every piece of this if you want it, we won’t even make you delete these things.”

It’s just… I miss town clothes too. My Norn was kitten sexy in those khaki shorts and all that jazz. But the fight is over. And seriously I’m not kidding when I say my body has a vicious reaction to the phrase “mix and match”. It is over.

hmmm.. thanks. I searched forums for about 30 minutes before I posted. this thread never came up. It Seems that the ANET devs have changed over the last year.. too bad. maybe it makes the game more stable?

Honestly I think they can please everyone very easily with the town clothes situation. [Armor]————[Costume][visability]
[head]———————[head]?
[shoulder]————[shoulder]?
[chest]———————[chest]?
[gloves]——————-[gloves]?
[leg]—————————[leg]?
[boot]———————-[boot]?
?=on ?=off (costume overrides armor appearance)

Or.. you know. let me just switch into my town clothes when I am in town like I did every single time I entered a town.
What has happened…. why did they mess with such a well built system. Money grab from Transmutation stones? only logical thing I can think of and it wouldn’t surprise me if they make all costumes armor skins and ditch town clothes.
Armor skins + town clothes is probably a major pain for Developers.
(._. ) but they dealt with it well for almost 2 years..
-takes deep breath-
OK.. I’m done.

I would absolutely love something like that. @ – @ They did state there was some sort of clipping issue but then there are clipping issues with regular armor. It seems to me (this could be complete crap, just my guess) that with finite resources it’s a matter of allocating them according to priority and… well… town clothes are pretty near the bottom of the list.
