I want this look for my Gaurd/War
I don’t understand why people keep asking for what looks like to me very generic and plain armor and weapons. Simple is nice, sure, but it doesn’t have to be boring. The weapons and armor in this game are fine we just need more of them. I like GW2’s art and I don’t want them to change the way they do things just to conform to what other MMOs have set as “cool”.

Its a matter of taste. I see Legendary weapons as a tasteless, overblown joke and cannot understand why anyone would equip one. That does not negate other people liking them or wanting them.

This weapon is too hard to make I think. It was really hard to do in Unity (and it was very time-consuming) because of physic.
About amor.
You can get something similar to this with Protector’s Armor and Protector’s Chausses (heavy, human t3) and Heritage Warboots (HoM heavy armor for 5 points). Rest is up to you: http://www.gw2armorgallery.com/human-heavy.htm
But you’ll get Tyrael’s look than Crusader’s look. Still it’s all what you can do with GW2 armors.
@Aguri.2896
It’s MMORPG where you create your own character and this is YOUR story. What if my story is crusader in Tyria? Do I really have to carry a disco-ball and wear Charr backpiece? This armor isn’t boring and don’t know what you’re talking about.

That’s the one of the points I was trying to make. I was just pointing out that just because this is what he prefers, it doesn’t mean it’s any better than what we have already as it’s a matter of taste. He doesn’t like what we have and what many other people like and I don’t like what he wants. At the same time though, I don’t want GW2 to lose it’s unique flare by adding things that don’t really fit the game aesthetic. It’s all a matter of my opinion, but it this doesn’t look like it belongs in GW2. We already have GW2’s version of Crusaders and those are part of the Vigil, they have their own armor and weapons so adding a “crusader” themed set just seems a little out of place to me.
Also, I don’t use disco-balls or charr backpieces either because they look ridiculous. That doesn’t mean we don’t have any cool weapons though. Take bolt for example, this weapon looks like it belongs in fantasy even though the blade isn’t that sharp and has a lightning theme to go with rather than something with no combat value like unicorns. Then look at all the other armor sets and weapon sets (minus SAB weapons) in the game and ignore legendaries and back pieces, not that bad really.

I’d love a set like that.
But Guild Wars 2 is an universe with disco weapons that shines with a stupid amount of light and colours, back items that looks like dragon wings, and every player is a Human Female Thief with underboob black leather and blue coloured hair with the flower.

I wish there was a set like this from one of the guardian concept arts. Especially that kind of helmet, with open eyesight but it’s completely black.

Crusaders from Diablo 3. Yea those are nice.

In my opinion it’s human cultural armor t3.
For shield check Kryta’s Embrace/Krytan Shield and for mace check Krytan Mace.
(edited by kristof.7182)
I think for the armor kristof gave you is a good start. For the weapons, gw2 has no realistic weapon with a chain (we do have super mace, but is a holographic mace), so perhaps a normal one like the krytan mace or hero’s mace will suffice. For the shield vigil’s honor shield could be a good choice.
I’m all for more armor and weapon skins, but the OP set does nothing for me. Each to their own. /shrug
There is armor similar to that in game.
Don’t the guild weapons put the guild icons on them? If you want a shield like that, maybe get a personal guild, make a similar icon if possible then see what the guild weapons look like.

100% agreed with you OP.
We need more armor sets like this in game – I feel there’s a lot of armor variety in the game already but it’s mostly oriented towards those who like spiky armor with all sorts of tidbits attached.
I’ve yet to see a decent sleek, clean and simple armor set like the ones you posted.
Another great example – and one that draws from their own concept art can be seen here : https://d3b4yo2b5lbfy.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/warrior-stances.jpg
@Aguri – it might look like very generic to you – but there are other people (like myself) who consider a look like that to be very cool and awesome. It’s something I would love to have.
There are different tastes – and just because something doesn’t particularly cater to you doesn’t mean there aren’t players who wouldn’t love it.
@Farzo – that concept art was supposed to be the Human Cultural Tier 3 armor – however somewhere down the line in production they completely messed up the helm and instead of the awesome version in the picture we have the silly one you can see in game.
I consider GW2 to have acquired a perfect amount of balance in its designs and customization choices. You can make very simple designs, just as much as you can make a spike galore.
All it requires is proper amount of patience, creativity and ideas. While flashy, or otherwise showoffey, I consider my humans to have attained a good enough middleground. (And it could be far more practical, realistic and normal looking if I cared for them to actually look that way. Caudecus’ Manor armor and human cultural armor sets fit the criteria, even the full Phalanx armor does. But well. I like me unique.)
Now if you want unnecessary amount of spikes, refer to my norn and his nether region cleavage. Purposedly made to abuse the developer’s need for spiky bits into things since I use the cook’s outfit over it anyways.
I’m all into knightly paladin crusader guardian like characters and GW2 has plenty of options for those! While you can’t replicate the Diablo Crusader -exacty-, you can achieve a very similiar style and feel by combining various pieces, a lot of which already mentioned above.
What about this ? Beside the helmet.
This is a real man’s armor set. This should be added to the game.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.

Nope. The tassels on the pauldrons serve no practical purpose. The armor has generally too much hard plate which would realistically restrict movement. Overall it’s a bit ostentatious, not to mention monochromatic which is boring.
Also that armor never existed in a Souls game, so it has not been tested in “real” combat.
And capes please!

Does the cloth on your armor server any practical purpose ? Since i think its also just cloth that is put on top of the plate for visual style, and so in the end it has as much hard plate as the Vigil armor.
Also i don’t understand how you can test “real” combat in a Game .. or is a Souls game something like LARP ?

There’s no plate under that cloth. It’s probably chain mail or leather. If you ever play Dark Souls you can see how the character moves and see that there isn’t any rigid form under the cloth, only on the exposed parts. Layered cloth and leather can be just as protective as plate against slashing damage. The only real threat against it is arrows, which could pierce plate anyway (especially once crossbows were invented). At any rate, armor is most practical in mitigating melee damage, and in a melee fight you have to have a certain amount of mobility.

I was being facetious lol. Even so, I personally think people who play Dark Souls are better conditioned gamers. By learning to beat that game, you learn how to overcome real challenges. It’s not a game that holds your hand and casually leads you around like a happy stroll through a pleasant meadow.

I despise the look of the Legendary greatswords, but I don’t demand they be removed. I for one like the look of that paladin. Our tastes differ, and the game should allow us to express ourselves the way we want to.
to be fair, there are some really cool armor designs in this game, but yeah, more of that wouldn’t hurt
There are millions of players, and there are thousands of different tastes, how can a game fulfill everyone’s desire? Yes, GW2 armor design are not very common compare to most MMO out there. I have spend a lot of time looking a suitable heavy armor set for my human warrior and norn guardian. When I imagine how i want to dress up according to the armor impression from movie, anime, and other RPG, I can’t find one.
Personally I like arah shoulder left side, arah grove left side, arah legging, arah boot without “arms”, gothic theme but not as evil as arah set. Sorry I can’t find one too. Finally I mix and match and come up with a quite satisfying combination for my human warrior. Shoulder is the hardest part to find suit my taste. Final choice are the human Tier 2 shoulder and the Ascalon shoulder.

I think there is a similar (by means of physics, not look) weapon in game…

Can you list all the armor pieces you used in that look? It’s really cool
