I wish GuildWars2's graphic engine upgrade
That’s honestly really cheap for a PC.
While I won’t disagree that the engine needs an update for code optimization reasons to be able to boost the performance and graphics capacity of the game in general for entirely different reasons, your PC by price alone really doesn’t warrant such claims that the engine is the problem; consoles in fact have substantially worse hardware and graphics settings than typically their PC counterparts, and especially on the high-end, have much worse performance in the same titles, even at reduced graphics settings.

And I wish they won’t change it, as optimization is currently not handling minimum specs that are given by the Anet, making the game in HoT zones unplayable on the minimum requirements.
I love it how it is. Under normal conditions I can run it at constant 60fps + , maxed out, and it looks gorgeous.
I would hate to have to go though all the fiddling about needed to get graphics right with a new game engine.

There is no problem with the engine, the game is gorgeous and relative to any other mmorpg it is performant, I would much rather the devs focused on new content. Sure if you run HOT with 4GB of memory then it will struggle – but then again this is 2016.

LW2 and HoT maps are dreadful for your average computer, such as mine. I can play all of GW2 vanilla maps just fine but the new ones are outfit unplayable due to the massive fps drop. If they upgrade the graphics, a chunk of players will be forced to quit.
The game’s graphic engine has many features I miss in other tripple-A MMORPG titles from other publishers. I totally hate the lighting which comes from top right. A L W A Y S.
But else I like there are nice water drops on-screen when coming out of the water, the weather and lighting effects in Metrica Province (which already LOOKS hot and sweltry) and the fact bushes and flowers are affected by projectiles and move accordingly.
But I really adore the ability to have flexible (Asura) ears. While walking or with the various emotes, they’re the first indicator of an Asura’s mood. Great “skeletons”. So while the engine looks a bit dusty (emphasis on “a bit” because it looks still great) at first, there are many nice details the competitors on the market don’t have to offer.
and politically highly incorrect. (#Asuracist)

I call lies on the constant 60+ fps. Yes most of the time you can get that. But you will not get it in WvW 3 way.

I have a GTX 970 with an i5 ivy bridge 3.4 GHz, 8 gigs of RAM and yes, while I am exploring HoT, it works very good. Whenever I see 20+ people on screen (cities, meta events, WvW) my FPS dips down to something like 40. Whenever I am in a WvW zerg fight, the FPS goes below 30 FPS. And that is even me running very low settings.

Kek. Not only is ram generally not the problem, there are definitely problems with the engine. Just look at all of the people with high-end computers who hit sub-30 FPS in big zerg situations

I think some maps are better optimized than others.
Heart of the Mists is TERRIBLE for frame rate.
I get better frames during a Dragon Stand meta on a full map.
Some clearly need some updating.
But for the most part, the game runs decently even on low end specs.

Changed my wording slightly for the nit pickers amongst us.
I maxed my settings fully(settings to ultra) and get 60fps in full maps, np
Graphic isnt that bad
