But I can’t.

I just returned to the game after a year away. Played for a few hours yesterday and thought I’d get HoT.

So I did the first couple of Story Episodes. Got my Mastery Point, filled up the bar under The basic Gliding but nothing has happened.

It now seems I’m stuck on 508,000 xp and it’s not ticking over.

I can’t proceed with the Story until I complete basic Gliding.

Am I missing something?

I’ve tried clicking/right clicking on the point there is still a padlock icon but the mastery symbol is white.

I’ve logged/relogged repaired the installation done the story on one of my alts all with no joy.

I really want to take to the air but, like Orville, I can’t.

Double click the mastery in the pane to spend a mastery point

The Masteries are similar to skills. You have to “buy” them. Skills you buy with hero points. Masteries you buy with Mastery points. Once a mastery line is completed with enough exp, you need to click on the icon on the left hand side of the line in the panel and spend the mastery points to buy it.

Might be bugged then. There was another report of a bugged basic gliding mastery (it was requiring over 4 billion mastery points. lol) if it’s not working then I suggest you contact support and see if they can fix it.

When you hover over it, does it say “earn more experience” or “click here to learn” (or similar)?

Pretty sure you have to “spend” points on a full xp bar by clicking on the right hand side, not the left?

I was referring to the panel it brings up when you click on the end of the mastery line.
The name of the mastery is on the left and then the filled in mastery line then the number of master points is on the right. If I remember correctly you click on the name, which is on the left hand side and not the points which is on the right.

Way Masteries work is that the experience doesn’t automatically teach you anything, it just unlocks that tier so you can spend Mastery points (which are like Hero Points, but specifically for Masteries) to actually learn it. You’ll need to run around and pick up some Mastery points scattered around each maps/locked behind Story achievements.

OP, how many mastery points does it say you have in the upper right hand corner of your screen when you hit H, under the Heart of Maguuma?
