…Thank you for making Guild Wars 2 such a great game.

I’ve only been playing the game little over a month, level80 for one character with 50% world completion and a couple ascension gears.

I’ve played plenty of MMOs (Runescape -> PWI -> Aion -> Forsaken World -> NeverWinter D&D -> Tera -> Rift -> WoW (MoP & WoD)) and now I think I finally found the MMO for me

The World bosses in this game is amazing, the fractals are great, the dungeons are good, the PvP and Dynamic events are superb.

In every other MMO I’ve played at the end game there’s no exploring and all I ever done in those games are doing dungeons over and over for gears at maxed level. But in this game I actually want to explore even at max level and the open world content is just great.

Anet has really done a good job at creating this game

+1

I think Anet needs to hear this more. Ive also played many games and this is by far superior to anything on the market so far.

Nothing beats old school Runescape in my opinion lol.

This is my favorite game now to though because it’s caudal and works great for someone who works full time. 2 hours a day is all I ever need. I can always do world bosses to when I need something to do as one is almost always going

I agree. I love the dynamics of this game compared to other MMORPGs. I’ve been playing for about 2.5 months and enjoy every moment I log in (have 2 level 80’s and 1 level 67 already).

I will be here for a long time.

I’m a person who always enjoyed MMORPGs, ever since Ultima Online, playing through a myriad of games in the genre across nearly three decades now.

Nowadays, I simply don’t have the time and, frankly, neither the desire to engage on the constant catch-up process that has become the norm for MMOs:

“Oh, you spent a year without playing? Well, everything you had is now basically trash, because each new patch brings gear that is exponentially better than the previous ones, and won’t enjoy the new content without it! Good luck playing catch-up!”

But GW2 is an exception. I can simply play for fun, without artificial barriers. I do activities and complete events and play PvP not in order to grind, but simply because I feel like doing those things.

Never change.

I’ve been playing for 3 months or so. After working some to buy exotic gear, I looked on the infamous “ascended” tier and was not amused. I quickly lost all my interest tbh.

Thought this game wouldn’t have this bs, seems I was mistaken. It’s a shame since it had so much potential.

Take a closer look. You do not need the Ascended gear. It’s a stat increase, yes, but not one vital to game play unless you specifically want to run high end Fractals, the only place where you need the infusion slots. Also they’ve promised there will never be a tier beyond it. Even Legendaries have the same stats, just with the addition of being able to swap them at will out of combat.

You’re not alone in your disdain for the very idea of Ascended. The raging threads were epic when it debuted. But it’s turned out to just be a thing in game that people can go for if they want. I have made almost no Ascended (and what I’ve made has been for the skins), I’m not even min-maxed in my builds, and I do fine in all the PvE content.

As I understand it from WvW posters, the stat increase won’t win a fight for you there unless you and your opponent(s) are exactly equally matched in skill. Which doesn’t happen.
