Macelt – Female Sylvari – Warrior – level 80
IS this a girl/multisexual name?
Macelt – Female Sylvari – Warrior – level 80
To me it could work as a name for a male or female. Sure, you could name a female character that.
Main? What “main”? I play all of them sooner or later.
It sounds like a surname to me.
In English I would say it’s gender neutral.
ANet may give it to you.
Sure, it could work for either one. But to me, as an English speaker, it sounds more like a surname.
When I Google Macelt, the first page was all about its use as a surname. That said, surnames get converted to male and/or female names all the time. The names Madison, Kennedy, Riley, Taylor Piper, Harper, and Mackenzie all appear on at least one "top 100 girl names) list. They’re also surnames, and I’ve known males named Madison and Riley.
To me British north west, it sounds like a name that would fit a man that has dark skin. (said with a straight face and not meant as a joke)
i wouldn’t bat an eyelid at seeing a male sylvari or female human with that name. Other races… asura i don’t think it’d be unusual, charr or norn it would kindof stick out, but really, in that case i’d just assume it’s a reference to something i don’t know about
to me it doesn’t really "sound like name…more like someone trying to write “Marcel” and made several typos and/or the normal written name was already taken .
But that doesn’re really matter in a videogame in my opnion. there are lot of PCs with funny names in gw2, yours wouldn’t feel out of place.
I’d see it more on a human character though…and probably more as a guy…because “Marcel” is a guy-name.
Would feel weird if it were an Asura, Norn or Charr. doesn’t fit the “feel” of the names in their culture in my opinion…Sylvari I’d always more towards gaelic or celtic names, but “Macelt” sounds very delicate and slender, so it could perhaps work.
