Idea: Allow Racial Transmutation Skins
So, things like racial skills would have to go by the “real” race and ignore your “racial skin.”
Cultural armor would have to go by the fake “racial skin,” if you’ve earned it on a character who actually belongs to that race, as it is only designed for one type of model.
Weapon sizes and armor types/proportions would have to ignore your “actual” race and instead now change depending on your chosen “racial skin” so they still fit your character.
Can you even do your personal story, if you have an asura who has “turned into” a charr? Will you now have a charr’s voice in cutscenes?
If I’m on the chapter of the human story where I’m rescuing my sister, is she supposed to recognize me if I look like a sylvari or norn?
This whole system would be a clumsy mess.
Many many players have expressed their desire to do this.
Many players have also said they don’t want it. And no matter what version of “race change” you’re talking about, it represents a lot of needless work for ArenaNet that upsets multiple aspects of the game’s systems and story. You can find players who will say they want almost anything you can come up with, that does not mean it is remotely reasonable or good for the game.

The pvp community reminds me of what Obi-kittenenobi describes Mos Eisley as from star wars.
Don’t care much for this personally, but if it is implemented it would only be allowable with lvl 80 characters that have completed their Personal Story since there’s no way of determining what branch you’re supposed to be following.
But by then, what the heck is the point of switching races?
